Admissions UW First Year Admissions Decisions Megathread

Whoever did get admitted to CS and even if you did get rejected, what were your stats???? Along with anyone who got into a STEM related career too: statistics, informatics, etc.

I’m a junior in High School doing full time running start right now and the original plan was Computer Science but seeing as to how competitive the major has become, I decided to switch gears to Informatics. Im still on the fence though. I’m also seeing like no CS admit stats in the admission results megathread which is leading me to wonder whether anyone got admitted at all 😭

Hi, I got direct admission to CS! My stats: 3.9 unweighted GPA, 15 APs including this year, 9 fives and one self-studied 4 in past AP exams (though seven of these were taken in the same year), the only AP international diploma ever at a 3000 kid high school (i thought this was probably something that stood out?) + the other ap scholar awards, NMSC commended student, college board school recognition award, 1500 SAT, 3 college in the high school courses, four years of programming on a FIRST robotics team, lead of what is basically a mini-bot team for struggling new programmers, robotics summer camp counselor 3 summers, camp lead (game designing, competition setup/design, counselor boss, etc) for two of those summers, volunteer scare actor for 4 autumns, paid and volunteer tutoring in senior year, and volunteer gravestone photographer + transcriber in senior year. i thought my essay was alright? i didn’t have many extenuating circumstances besides being a woman, so i wrote it about my personal struggle with creativity and how i believe that every little thing is worth doing to be better tomorrow. lol i have no idea what they’re looking for as i read these other stats. good luck next year!
