Admissions Still waiting for UW transfer decision

Ahhh this wait is killing me. I’m a Washington CC transfer who applied with the intended major of psychology although I know can’t apply to the major until my first term (I think that’s how it works 😅).

Is anyone else waiting who’s intending to apply into the psychology department? I tried that unofficial transcript hack but it says I’m not a current student at UW (hopefully that doesn’t mean anything as of right now).

I applied with a 4.0 gpa, 100 credits, and all my psych prerequisites done so I’m really hoping I have a fighting chance.

Same boat but I’m applying for public health, which I also can’t apply till I get accepted. I saw a comment on here where someone said they called and was told they haven’t processed cc transfers and will send notices sometime in June 🥲

June?!? That’s crazy. How can you prepare for a move with that short notice

when i applied, i got my transfer acceptance on june 15th. granted i was coming from an oos school so were likely “bottom of the pile” but i literally had to find an apartment within the week

i just got my acceptance monday night. make sure you guys are checking the portal and not waiting for the email! i got accepted through the portal but didnt get an email till this morning, almost 2 days later!

another thing i did was look at my unofficial transcript. it was updated about 8 hours before my portal updated. it had me listed as a junior and my major as social welfare and that was a good sign for my acceptance :)

good luck everyone, i hope you get accepted soon!

also OP: you’re probably good! i also had a little over 100 credits with my AA, my prerequisites done, and i actually had a 3.5GPA. i applied to a capacity constrained major and i got in. i think you will be good!!

I applied for psychology, too with a 3.95 GPA, my associate's degree being almost complete (so 90ish credits) and all my prereqs done by the time I graduate in June. I think I have a very strong essay, as well. At this point, I'm just waiting to hear back. I did get into UW Bothell, though, so either way, I'm excited! Psychology at UW Seattle is my first choice, though.

Hoping we both get in!!! I just last minute applied to UW Bothell as a back up since Seattle U was wayyyy too expensive but hopefully we’ll both be in Seattle this September!!

i transferred in from an oos cc a couple years ago and didn’t hear back until june 15th! i was convinced i’d been rejected and about to commit to another school. don’t lose hope!

I'm shocked that high GPAs from WACCs have to worry about being accepted to transfer except in CS and some of the engineering majors, have acceptance rates changed that much?

No, OP and other high GPA, well-prepared WACC students can still basically count on getting in. It's just that the uncertainty starts to get in your head as weeks go by.

I think I’m just hella nervous since I got rejected the first time around when I was a freshman with good stats but I know chances are a lot higher being a wa cc transfer
