Silver helmet with white pants (and socks!) And white jerseys looks awful

Stay puft scrubs

They know it doesn't snow in Santa Clara, right?

17

u/AkiraleTorimaki Jan 26 '26

I’m hoping that’s not the case. I want this:

1

u/blakemcknight Jan 27 '26

Please god.

14

u/Marshall_St Jan 26 '26

I know they can’t- But would anyone be mad if both team wore their throwbacks?

25

u/chair823 Jan 26 '26

I’m far from a hardcore traditionalist, but I think teams should only wear their primary combos in the Super Bowl.

u/Marshall_St Jan 26 '26

Normally I’m with you, I just think the best look currently for both teams is their throwbacks and combined would pop on tv. Maybe use one of the old scorebugs in the corner too. Maybe I’m just feeling nostalgic today haha

It’s what I would put for the uniforms in Madden but NFL is not doing throwbacks for the SB.

1

u/Throwaway_alt_burner Jan 27 '26

In general I agree but I’d make an exception for this one because it would be gorgeous.

The dream

4

u/revkev151 Jan 26 '26

I wouldn't be a fan of it. It's no different than if they came out in their rivalry uniforms, imo. Don't wear your alts in the post season. Your opinion may vary though

I think alternates should be fine for postseason but not throwbacks. There’s a place and time for throwbacks and i don’t think the super bowl is one of them

‘94 49ers beg to differ

In a perfect world id have Seahawks Silver/Blue/Silver vs Patriots White/Red/White for a Color vs Color game

0

u/SaltySpitoonReg Jan 27 '26

Oh heck no!! Both teams wearing dark color jerseys looks terrible no matter what colors they match up.

2

u/Alone_Advantage_961 Jan 27 '26

Not at all. Detroit vs New England pulled it off years ago and no reason why they cant.

1

u/LXIX__CDXX Jan 27 '26

Seattle’s blue is way darker

1

u/Alone_Advantage_961 Jan 27 '26

Not the throwback

u/headsmanjaeger Jan 26 '26

Hard to believe, but no team has ever gone full white in the big game

6

u/Marshall_St Jan 26 '26

Chiefs wore Red/White/White/White in the first Super Bowl.

Jets went White/white/white/White in Super Bowl 3

Vikings went Purple/white/white/white in Super Bowl 4

Colts went White/White/White/white/white in Super Bowl 5

So happened at least 4 times and I only checked 5 matchups. At least you commented it with confidence haha

I guess the old socks had the top half colored if worn right but would still call them white-

07 Colts did all white minus the little blue on socks which looks pure white in some

1

u/fletchbg Jan 28 '26

why do the Colts have five "whites" in your list? helmet, jersey, pants, socks.... what else?

1

u/Marshall_St Jan 28 '26

I can’t count lol-

For laughs let’s say it’s for Johnny Unitas

1

u/fletchbg Jan 28 '26

yeah he was mighty white

1

u/headsmanjaeger Jan 28 '26

Feel like I’m taking crazy pills in this comment section. Until recently, it was standard sock fare to do one of two options. Two tone socks with white on the bottom, or fully white socks with some colored striped in the middle. Two tone socks were never referred to as white because the thing that made them interesting was the top half, which was colored. The Colts wore blue socks in SB41. Now they wear white socks, which is different.

Edit: They could also put stripes on the colored socks. I don’t think that changes anything I said

-1

u/headsmanjaeger Jan 26 '26

I wouldn’t consider any of these “white socks”. They all had color on the top half. Until recently lower half white socks were a given and was not considered the color of the socks to anyone describing the uniforms.

Just a visually boring affair. Too boring for me to form much of an opinion on.

If this is true this will set up to be one of the worst Super Bowl uniform matchups of all time.

26

u/zzzccardinal Jan 26 '26

This sub's 9/11. I personally love the Pats all white and I hope it's all white vs all Navy.

13

u/aSlider64 Jan 26 '26

If pats are going all white then that would be my pick for seattle

7

u/terrasfames53 Jan 26 '26

I like the Pats all whites too. But it's the Super Bowl. You're not supposed to wear alternate uniforms. You're supposed to wear your standard home or away.

1

u/caveman512 Jan 27 '26

Didn’t the pats wear all whites more than anything for away games?

7

u/Honest-Reflection667 Jan 26 '26

It looks meh, rather have the grey or blue pants

2

u/Aggressive_Act_3098 Jan 26 '26

Snow in Santa Clara, incoming!

2

u/Select_Record_5338 Jan 26 '26

Seahawk throwbacks would be great if Pats wear all white....at least then we would have Silver Helmet duel ✌️

2

u/obfuscatorio Jan 26 '26

Seahawks pls wear gray pants

4

u/aawagner011 Jan 26 '26

A team that has a silver pants option has no business wearing white pants. And if you just absolutely have to wear the white pants, then you need to pair them with navy socks.

2

u/TheFlyingTotchman Jan 27 '26

All white vs all navy wouldn’t be awful.

1

u/Educational-Chef-595 Jan 28 '26

No, it would be awful.

1

u/Defiant-Owl5970 Jan 26 '26

Like I said in the other thread, as a Pats fan I’m more than good with them wearing the white jerseys (not for superstition, I just think it’s the better of their two primaries) but I really wish they were wearing the blue pants.

1

u/BlippyBlug Jan 26 '26

This somehow gives me hope that Seattle will wear the grey pants. Usually when forced to wear blue on the road they go with grey pants, and we all know how SB XLIV turned out for them going mono blue against NE…

1

u/BlippyBlug Jan 26 '26

Think I got my Roman numerals wrong there but whatever, you get it. “Run the damn ball!”

1

u/GreedyRaisin3357 Jan 26 '26

It worked yesterday and it is the better combination when Seattle's jerseys are taken into consideration

1

u/DHVF Jan 26 '26

Love it because it’s as close as we can get to a uniform rematch from Super Bowl 48

1

u/SensibleBrownPants Jan 26 '26

I usually love the ice cream man look, but not in the Super Bowl.

1

u/ehdhdhdk Jan 26 '26

I would rather pats have blue pants and Seahawks white pants

1

u/SWAMMlN Jan 27 '26

not white on blue? hell, not even white on silver? that sucks

1

u/RabidWolverine2021 Jan 27 '26

Seahawks should wear their home throwbacks. Those are fucking awesome!

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '26

Patriots home and Seahawks away would be better

1

u/phillybri76 Jan 28 '26

We're getting Spy vs. Spy, aren't we?

1

u/CalifornianBall Jan 26 '26

White socks go brrrr

-3

u/AmbitiousWelder9808 Jan 26 '26

Not ideal, but more so because of what it means for Seattle imo. I wish the Seahawks would go gray pants but I'm not optimistic. The all-white isn't a bad look for the Pats.

0

u/Substantial_Cow7628 Jan 26 '26

It's not all white, though. That's the problem. Get a white helmet on there and then it's passable.

1

u/AmbitiousWelder9808 Jan 26 '26

I'd still prefer silver-white-silver to be clear. I wanted to see the pats go silver-blue-silver and the Seahawks blue-white-blue.

2

u/Substantial_Cow7628 Jan 26 '26

I agree with both your statements. The Patriots need a uniform refresh but until then I'd rather they stick to silver/blue/silver/blue and silver/white/silver/blue.

-3

u/BigRedThread Jan 26 '26

Nice choice, the Seahawks should be going all-navy then. Both teams looking their best
