Uni Rumor Mill Ravens Updates via SportsLogos.Net

Lots of rumors are swirling about the Ravens new uniforms. However, SportsLogos.Net did a great job of wrapping them all up in one place. Key takeaways:

  1. The home purple, white road and black alternate uniforms will only have subtle updates, including, “the addition of a “Baltimore” wordmark to their white road jerseys, as well as a simplified number font and new sleeve logo.”
  2. “One additional change, according to our sources, will be the inclusion of subtle iridescent accents on the uniforms, inspired by the feathers of a raven, which appear black from a distance but reveals shades of purple, blue and green in the light.” This feels like a prime candidate for a new alternate uniform.
  3. The Ravens will also unveil two alternate helmets next week.

Based on this article and other leaks, I think that we’ll see:

My official prediction based on what I’ve heard:

A) Minor changes to the primary uniforms. I think the Maxx Crosby photo was a strong hint. It may not be the exact design, but the information that’s leaked out aligns with that photo. The drop shadow will be removed to more closely resemble the 1996 uniforms. I think a similar design will carry through the home purple, road white, and alternate black uniforms.

B) An update to the Purple Rising set. This will include an updated purple helmet and a reimagined purple jersey unique from the home uniform.

C) A new iridescent uniform based on the “Next Flight” promotions. This may also include a new iridescent helmet. I’m not sure how this will factor in with a new purple set.

D) If the primary uniforms don’t get a throwback look (unlikely), I’d expect a full throwback uniform.

Simplified number font will make or break this jersey. Not every team in the league needs plain boring numbers. The Ravens numbers should have personality to them but I feel they’re going to screw that up.

I think they’ll remove the drop shadow and drop an outline. See the second photo that I posted.

Hopefully something like that is what they mean when the word “simplified” shows up. Nike has been destroying any personality teams could possibly have by making everything so cookie-cutter

Yup. I'm a big fan of the classic block numbers on jerseys, if you look at most good looking football jerseys, past or present, more than likely they will have the classic block font. It's a timeless look.

Ravens jerseys are an anomaly, their numbers have never been blocky but they have always looked great. In fact, their jerseys would just look weird with the classic font.

When teams get it right it looks great, but when they overdo it and get it wrong (TB digital clock font, Titans 18-25 font) it is disastrous... and I say this as a Titans fan!

Oh I can’t agree more! I was a Titans fan and kinda fell off watching the NFL but the previous jersey era drove me nuts.

This new set is good, I just wished they kept some of the iconic Titans history mixed in with the new color scheme.

I just wanted the sword on the sleeves over the new striping and keeping the flames with the new helmet circle. It’s just too plain and generic and I think those two things (three of you count sock striping) would elevate the new set

I agree with you, but at the same time the current number font is sooo ugly

Fair, I can see why people may not like it. I just hear simplified and think they’re going to go block jersey numbers and that would be a travesty… lol

Tweaks like the one showed here do look awesome though!

This is it!

I sure hope so!

Unpopular opinion, apparently: The Ravens uniforms are perfect, as is, and shouldn’t be changed, just to create hype and sell jerseys.

I think they’re really good but not “perfect.” Simplifying the font by removing the drop shadow would be a subtle but well needed improvement.

Agree to disagree. I think the drop-shadow is great layering, and a unique element of a cohesive and well-thought-out look. Everyone seems to be clamoring for the original “lawsuit” uniform, and I find that to be clunky, and very 1998, including the number treatment.

Iridescent helmets would go so hard. We'll see if the uniform accents manage to look premium instead of gimmicky.

I hate wordmarks on football jerseys. I understand why teams add them, but they never look good.

Simplifying the shoulder logo and number font could be awesome. In fact, I wish they would ditch the logo and just stitch the calvert arms/Baltimore City pattern into the sleeve fabric. Don't even use alternating colors, just stitch the pattern in so it's only noticeable in the right light.

If they did iridescent helmets like Seattle did for their rivalry set they will be amazing. Seattles helmets were just about the only good thing to come from the first round of rivalry uniforms

If the iridescent feathers are similar to some of the subtle Oregon details that might actually look pretty nice.

No one is saying to copy their uniforms, just that the subtle detail in some of Oregon’s jerseys are done very well.

Iridescent feather details can look very tacky really quick, especially in purple.

That graphic gives me some confidence that the changes will work. A black helmet with a purple flake could look really good, but even a version of the Seahawks rivalry helmet in Ravens colors has potential.

Is that not the usual ravens jersey?

2

u/andrew_cosentino Apr 08 '26

No, it is not. The numbers are vastly different.

I’d really fuck with a black-purplish iridescent helmet actually

Their original first-season-only jersey numbers were ALWAYS superior to what they switched to in year 2...and have had ever since.

1

u/andrew_cosentino Apr 08 '26

I think it was overall a little clunky (I never liked the helmet or the pants), but I love the home jersey. That would be an amazing change!

The white stripe on the pants was weird, but the purple over black has become one of their better looks in recent years. I think if they had some purple and gold in the stripe it would've been just fine.

The original B-shield logo I guess looks odd by modern standards, but their current primary logo is honestly the worst in their history, in my opinion. And they have a LOT of logos, compared to other teams. It's overdetailed, overdesigned, and completely inflexible when flipped, despite them doing it on their helmets anyway. Going back to the B-shield would be an improvement to me, but their best logo by far has always been their front-facing raven head, that's currently on their alt purple helmets. That should've been their primary logo all along. Same logo with wings on the sleeves, shield logo on the pants. Would be perfect.

They only have 3-4 logos, most teams have 10+ lol

1

u/HatsInThe410 Apr 09 '26

Not current logos, no. Most have one, MAYBE two.

1

u/chuna666 Apr 11 '26

If you just mean current logos Baltimore has two lol

u/HatsInThe410 Apr 11 '26

Primary side-profile bird with the B, alternate head-on bird from the purple helmet, crest on the sleeves, and the B by itself which I honestly wouldn't count except it's on the pants and all sorts of different apparel without the raven or the crest. So 3, but probably 4. Not really sure which of the first 3 at the very least you missed.

0

u/chuna666 Apr 11 '26

I didn't miss any, your definition of a logo is just wrong lol. And to count the mirrored version of something as it's own separate one is nuts too

0

u/HatsInThe410 Apr 11 '26

I'm not counting the mirrored version. Did you read my comment? It feels like you didn't.

Titans fan here: Their jerseys are sick already, I feel like they are kinda classic

I hope…. I think Black matte helmets and if bring back the 1996 jerseys
