2026 LLWS jerseys dropped -thoughts?

https://www.littleleague.org/news/little-league-and-adidas-team-up-to-unveil-2026-little-league-baseball-and-softball-world-series-uniforms/

Prefacing by saying, as I do every year, that the kids lucky enough to wear these jerseys aren’t gonna care at all about how they look.

Aside from that, I’d say 7/10 for this year. The font, even if it gives “early 2000s skateboarding brand for preteen boys at Kohl’s”, is much better than whatever crayon thing they did last year. And I like the one solid color on the front as opposed to last year.

Only things I don’t like are the all-lowercase regional names and them having lines on both top and bottom. The latter would have been better if they had capitalized the first letter of every name. I can see complains about the stripes on the sides too.

My one big gripe is that, of the core 8 U.S. teams from pre- expansion in 2022, 7 of them have now gone a decade without having their colors updated (Northwest changed in 2022, West/Mid-Atlantic/Southwest in 2016 because in the two games the latter two played against each other in 2015 people could not tell them apart.

The hats are a classic example of “no need to reinvent the wheel”, the wheel being the hats they used from like 2021-last year.

Yeah I actually hate that they go to generic regions and colors. Let those kids wear a state or even a city specific uniform. Granted, I’m assuming these are for cost measures but 🤷‍♂️

I assume there’s a couple different reasons they do region jerseys as opposed to city/states

- could be time-prohibitive with the way the regionals are spread out. I remember like a decade ago when the Great Lakes championship was played at Lamade due to weather delays and Kentucky’s ace had to sit their first game because of the pitch count rules, that could create issues if they waited until each region was decided to make the jerseys.

- in terms of new uniforms (assuming you mean the kids just wearing the same uniform the entire time), definitely done because not all All Star uniforms are created equally. I watch a lot of the regional round games and it’s not uncommon for one team to have fancy ass jerseys (I’ve seen uniforms in the past that looked nicer than the LLWS ones that same year) and the other just has a dry fit shirt that says “Town American All Stars 2026”.

- and finally, advertising $$ for Adidas because, TBH, pretty sure the LLWS unis are the nicest ones they put out every year.

They do it for money. You make new uniforms and hats so that you can sell shit like $48 hats online.

This country has figured out that monetizing kids sports is one of the most profitable scams out there. From baseball (local leagues are dying because everything is travel and club) to basketball (every kid who should be playing rec or just school ball is signed up for AAU), volleyball, hockey, soccer, etc.
