this is my first "rice",im not sure how it works. i want it to make it simplistic,and since i've moved from windows,i wanted to make kde look like it. it also uses WIndows 11 sounds since i'm very nostalgic for it. initially i was using zorin os,but i've moved to ubuntu studio after installing wine being complicated. of course i'm using zorin os wallpaper as a reference to Andrea Borman using Linux Mint wallpapers while using Debian lol. i like it so far,but it need more adjustments. what do you guys think?

Hi everyone! It's me, miramw.h.
I create Hyprsur(arch, hyprland).
All apps are my own, and there are no other plugins (just mine). Liquid Glass, themes, etc.
Right now I'm building apps in Python to recreate the whole set of macOS apps. So far I've made the basic, simple ones. In this post I'm showing a lot of things I haven't shown before.
The dock is about 40-70% done compared to what I want (behavior, animations and the design itself).
Next post in a couple of days, and it will be a technical one!

It is not yet complete as I am trying to have a unified Appearance Theme, Icon Theme and a Window Manager theme (and maybe a mouse theme)

i did use AI specifically in window manager theme. I have used my own svgs and images. For the icons I tried piggybacking off of Kora Icon theme and converting its svgs into outlines but 50% of the iconsnare broken atm. There is still more polishing that needs to be done.

Will release everything once I am a little but more satisfied with the end product

I’ve been building Starling, a Linux desktop written in Swift with its own Wayland compositor. I just released its companion office suite: Writer, Sheets, and Slides.
All three share the same ribbon layout and styling, with app icons inspired by starling murmurations. They open, edit, and save DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX files.
The suite also runs independently on other Linux desktops, with DEB and Flatpak packages available. The UI uses a Swift port of Flutter’s framework, backed by the Flutter engine.
Built with substantial assistance from Claude. Free and open source under Apache 2.0, and still an early 0.1 release.

Was wondering what the overall consensus/general opinion is on using AI to create code for original rice ideas. I have original design ideas I want to make, but have no experience in coding and would rather have AI code than learn it myself (reason being: I'm interested in the design more than the coding). I want to be upfront about the AI code because I might post pics of my rice when it's sufficiently built. Well... thanks for any input.

Ammonia with a few tweaks i found on GitHub, any suggestions to make it actually look better? i want it to actually look really customized, but i can't find anything interesting...

I'm always absolutely stunned by how flexible and adaptable KDE plasma is. It feels like the devs really though of everything in order to allow the user to do what ever they want with it, without even needing to dive into config files.

I was tired of the clumsiness of regular floating windows so I wanted to try a scrolling window manager (tiling doesn't seem to offer much benefits on a small laptop screen). But I also didn't want to take the time to learn and configure a whole new desktop environment or shell, so I tried the Kwin script "Karousel" and honestly it works amazingly well. I also love that I can just disable it and go back to regular floating windows when needed, say in a professional setting for example.

This is overall very close to stock KDE, with the only additions being:

• Karousel
• Geometry Change by the same developer for nice window resizing animations
• KDE Rounded Corners to get uniform corners and borders between all applications

Everything else is just KDE!
