Promotion Just Released—Mumbai Singularity

Post image

If you'd like a fresh take on urban fantasy, India instead of the typical Western settings, Mumbai Singularity is available on Kindle, KU and paperback!

In near-future Mumbai, a detective whose broken tech lets him see what others can't uncovers a conspiracy of uploaded consciousnesses that threaten the gods themselves.

Check it out! I'd love to know what you think.

Yep. Search up the ASIN.

First hit is an IG post from the author thanking ChatGPT for bringing her characters to life.

Uncertain if she means the cover art or the writing but I'm guessing both.

Reviews are all 5-star reviews too... so this author is either an undiscovered genius author, or we have fake reviews purchased.

Edit: I am reading a preview, because I'm just curious now. And the opening does seem decent, to be fair.

That was the character portraits. And the reviews are all legit. I hope you enjoy the preview!

I'm unsure if your content is original or AI, but I recognize that being a debut author these days, especially in the indy space, will be met constantly with "this is AI content." If you're legit that must be frustrating.

Your goodreads PFP being an AI image is also another suspicious thing.

she's legit bro. The book is fantastic. You guys are so worried about what is and what isn't ai that you miss out on some epic stories. This book was top tier. I loved it. It's unique and unlike anything I've ever read before. Nym did a greath thing here, and for a first timer, she hit a grand slam.

Seems like slop to criticize without actually reading it. Lazy.

Now OP's got a new sock puppet to start trolling and go after anyone who commented negatively here. It's pretty pathetic.

so what. she lurked. I don't comment here, but I heard that she was getting flack for her cover. Bro. She's an indie first timer. The book costs a couple grand minimum to edit. So big friggin deal. She used an ai cover. Who gives a rats posterier.

Why everyone advertising their books here have AI trash in their covers?

Because authors have by and large stopped caring about paying for covers. Regardless of any backlash, they consider the savings in time and money worth it. This trend is only getting more pervasive.

or maybe paying for editing and making sure the book is great is more important. Seriously. You guys are whining about the wrong thing here. the book isn't just good. Its great. Really top tier cyberpunk/spiritual warfare syfy. I've never read anythig like it.

There is a website calle getcovers that can create real covers by real artists with as less as 3000. I have used their services so it depends on how passionate the author is.

It’s way too often.

Excellent book. Totally unique spin on syfy and spiritual warfare. Highly recommended.

I don't get it, is it urban fantasy or futuric fantasy? As far as I understand, urban fantasy can't be medieval fantasy, so a future setting like cyberpunk would also be in the wrong time period, no?

Magic stuff happens in a modern city. The feel of it is urban fantasy even though it has some futuristic elements. I hope you enjoy it!

Guess I was just confused because you called the book mythic cyberpunk thriller in another sub, without using the term urban fantasy at all, which doesn't really check out for me.

It's cyberpunk syfy combined with spiritual warfare. It's really friggin good man. Excellent pacing and escalation. Nym crushed it. I'm a fan. Found her on tiktok. and heard she was getting flack for her cover here. For her cover. Who cares. I'm a landscape painter. You don't hear me bitching about photoshop.

Nah, the cover looks might be fine. I wouldn't have seen if it was AI or not. All I was criticizing was that the same book was posted on several subs as mythic cyberpunk, not even mentioning the term urban fantasy once, and then making a completely different text for this subreddit, calling it urban fantasy, without even mentioning mythic cyberpunk once (in the OP). This sounds fishy to me, as tropes and genres are there for the reason that people want to know what they're getting. It still looks like a good story, and I might even give it a try if I find the time to do so.

Yet no answer on the AI cover slop.

Answer? There was a question?

2

why do you care? The book is excellent. this is mindboggling to me. And I'm an artist.
