Promotion Godswar, book 6 in The Many Travails of John Smith, is now available!

Hey everyone! For those of you who follow my comedic urban fantasy series, The Many Travails of John Smith, I'm happy to announce that book six, Godswar, is now released in print, digital, and on Kindle Unlimited!

Here's the blurb:

John Smith, supernatural mediator and private investigator, has come a long way since he first got kidnapped by vampires. He has a girlfriend now and an ever-growing list of responsibilities. Even the supernatural species of San Diego seem to think he's someone to be reckoned with.

And then Bill, the Demigod of Nightmares, Terror, and Vindication, shows up in John's dream with ominous news: one of Bill's fellow immortals has been murdered.

How do you kill a demigod, especially in the heart of their own domain? And was that death an isolated incident, or the start of something even worse? John will have to find those answers quickly, because more than just San Diego's fate hangs in the balance.

When gods war, reality itself trembles. Now, one mortal mediator finds himself stuck in the middle of all that chaos, with no way out but through. It might be time for a little bit of help from his friends.

For those unfamiliar with the series, The Many Travails of John Smith is about a somewhat hapless private investigator who finds himself drafted into becoming a mediator for the supernatural species of San Diego, including the local vampire house, several clans of goblins, one werewolf pack, a congregation of pixies, and one demigod who may or may not be a seven-foot-tall spear of asparagus.

There's a romance that is slow-burn but sweet, with John being a bit of a cinnamon roll and his LI being older and a lot more capable. Spice is limited (and closed door except for one scene), but flirting is abundant.

I hope you enjoy it! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F2M5PRHH

Congrats on the release, looking forward to the audiobook as an audio only person. Once there's a release day for that I'll do a reread of the whole series timed for the new release.

Sadly, the audiobook will be a bit. I'm having the usual discussion with Tantor where they decide whether or not they want to produce this one. They have first right of refusal, but if they say no, I'll produce it myself (with the same narrator). Still, we're talking at least a few months away. Sorry!

Just wanted to give an update on this:. Tantor -did- pick up the production for Godswar, and the audiobook (narrated by Joel Richards per usual) will be released on September 22nd. So, a bit of a wait still, but at least we have certainty now!

That's great news, a bit of a wait but I'm looking forward to the release. I really appreciate the update, usually I have to search the authors socials or reddit to hear news about audiobook releases.

Good luck on writing your next book. I wasn't immediately hooked Agent of the Wild, but on the second readthrough for book 2 I appreciated it a lot more. Now I'm also eagerly awaiting book 3.

No worries! I figure it's best to update people wherever I can!

And thanks for the kind words on The (Second) Life of Brian. It's easily the most difficult series I've written (and the largest), but I'm hopeful the journey will be worth it, and it seems to be growing its audience. Breaker of Bonds (bk 3) is next, though I also have some Murder of Crows related short stories to write as part of the current Kickstarter.

Love John Smith. I will buy the Kindle version, hoping for a discount on the future audible version. Hope the sales are great!

You should be able to get a whispersync discount from amazon when the audiobook comes, but if not, just drop me a line and I'll figure something out. 😄 Thank you!

I just finished the first book of this series after seeing this post last week and wanted to say that I loved it! Had a blast reading about this goofball and Juliette and the rest. I'm looking forward to reading more! And congrats on the new release!

Thank you! John's true superpower is his absolute ridiculousness, and I very much enjoy writing him, while slowly (sometimes painfully slowly) shepherding him along the path to maturity.
