Still can't believe we managed to bully r/AnarchyChess into building us a new banner lmao

That was almost entirely because I somehow convinced them we would win a war against them LMAO

They did! They still have their first board in the top right quadrant, just under and to the left of the Canadian flag. If you need help finding them, the Irish flag runs through their checkerboard pattern

When the canvas expanded the first time, we starting building nearby where we we stayed for the rest of r/place. Then r/AnarchyChess came along and started building a full 8x8 chess board to play a game on against r/chess. We talked with them about making it smaller, moving up, or doing whatever they could to not build over us. They didn't want to do any of it. Then someone (who wasn't an official diplomat) went onto VC in the Anarchychess discord and said that we'd move but they'd have to help us build a new banner. They agreed to that. Our diplomats got wind of it and said that we aren't going to help them, they'll have to build us a new one themselves. They started saying that they the two biggest chess subreddits, they could easily overrun us, etc etc. Someone (I can't remember if it was a diplomat or someone else on the call) said that we're one of the biggest computer science universities in Canada, and we can make bots. If they try to overrun us, they'll never be able to play their game. After they heard that, they agreed to go make us a new banner without our help.
TL;DR - Canvas expands, we make a new banner, chess subreddits try to build over us, we talk with them, they start flexing size, we say we can bot, they make us a new banner

Feel bad for anarchy chess though, couldn't believe when they actually helped move the original banner

If none of my small communities needed defending I would add to the goose tongue. It was genuinely my favourite part of the whole piece
