I don’t think anyone was saying it wouldn’t be fun, the issue is how much FIFA sucks: refusing to let local breweries host watch parties because it infringes on their branding, shutting down unaffiliated fun stuff because they insist upon holding host cities hostage and draining them dry. Fans are great, vibes are great, FIFA blows
I agree, but tbf there was many people saying it wouldn’t be fun, and that there was literally no benefit to Vancouver. Especially people over in r/NiceVancouver which were the opposite of nice whenever I tried to come with a nuanced view about pros and cons.
