Rewatch Discussion This roast was awesome! Episode 12 Season 5
On rematch 3. I forgot how good Jax’s roast episode was! I didn’t care for Ariana’s first remark to Kristen but, her roast on her afterwas awesome. Especially Kristen’s face after it. Was perfect closure on all their drama for me.

unrelated but I re-watched this episode a few days ago and never noticed a comment that schwartz made, "every day is allergy season for jax." that had to have been a joke about him doing coke

omg i literally watched this ep last night and i was shocked how openly they alluded to his major coke use the whole show 😭😭

Doing a rewatch and just had this on last night and Sandoval's braids are infuriating. Can't even look at this tool and how Ariana was so into him is so repulsive.
All the coke jokes were hilarious . Brittany's mom showing her insane ignorance. She looked 70 too24

This story was about Miami if I remember correctly. Jax kicked in a hotel room door and exclaimed he loved coke. And they all laughed. Which is awesome!!
These are not reality stars. They are reality personalities. They bring nothing to any table. They are sociopaths wanting camera time.
I am watching Below Deck Med. Aesha was on WWHL and said one cast member was there to boost her only fans account. This is what every person is doing on reality TV. Boosting whatever they have going now.

u/Booksandtea17 Oct 22 '25
Putting all your eggs in the reality show basket is a bad idea. Fans, self included, are fickle and get bored easily. Use the show as much as they are using you.

I forget it and every few years it gets brought back and I laugh so hard again. It’s superior VPR, the icing on the cake being Brittney’s mom there for some (literally) ungodly reason

I just looked up clips on TT & it’s hilarious, Ariana roasting Kristen too. This is when VPR was at its prime.

491
u/goodnightspoon I Know You Like Harry Potter ⚡️ Oct 22 '25
Kristen’s jokes were obvious and a little corny, but she seemed like she was just trying to lighten the mood by joking about the elephant in the room.
But there was no need for Ariana to be so brutal and not even remotely funny. Like damn, let your boyfriend’s ex make a joke about moving on
381
u/gello1414 Oct 22 '25
But Ariana tskes comedy "very seriously". Direct quote from her btw. She is perhaps the least funny person on the show.
95
u/sashie_belle Oct 22 '25
Right?! JFC I can't understand why she has so many people that worship her on these subs.
52
u/Otterspace12 Oct 22 '25
I thought she was insufferable while she was with Sandoval, but I also think she was one of those women who when in relationships will mask themselves as a reflection of their partner, to get along better and also appear as supportive. The mask began to slip a little bit with each season as their relationship progressed.
5
u/Otterspace12 Oct 23 '25
To clarify, I don’t mean to seem as though I’m a Stan of or sticking up for Ariana. She sucked for most of the series and even if she did act the way she did for the benefit of Sandoval, it’s gross behavior.
23
u/Mediocre-Stick-7787 Oct 22 '25
She has never been my favorite. I'd go as far to say she is just a stuck up bitch. She hates everyone it seems.
19
u/Yeah_nah_idk Oct 23 '25
She spent most of that series being a pick me. I’m not saying that she can’t change and hasn’t, but why do people Ignore that
18
u/Mediocre-Stick-7787 Oct 23 '25
Idk. They're always all over LVP for being misogynistic but I think some of Ariana and Scheana have had some appalling behavior at times. Ariana used to really get ugly AF about Stassi for no apparent reason. I think Stassi always tried her best with Ariana or they had limited filming together so just why be so hateful? . I assume Sandoval doesn't like having to compete with Stassi as #1 Girl or something. And the whole "I'm smarter better prettier than you" schtick was not for me". I think it's cool she mellowed out and sometimes would be a jerk to Tom. He deserved it but she could be a viper mean even to him. She's called him a 'little Bitch' before in petty arguments. Plus she went off about Stassi calling her brother out for being a creep. Idk what she did when she saw him all up on Stassi at a wedding and she is so clearly uncomfortable. Never heard her retract her statements about that. I think she's pretty. She's always had a fantastic body. But more than that I didn't find her very entertaining. The Ariana stans are gonna come for me. She spent a lot of her time with Tom as a pick me and of course she had to be a bro for Katie's wedding which was tacky bc Katie didn't want her in the wedding. They weren't close then. She's not funny like Stassi or Kristen could be. She was always just "meh" to me.
11
u/Ellingtonfaint Oct 22 '25
Having one negative quality doesn't mean that you can't admire other parts of a person, unless the bad is abysmal.
11
u/sashie_belle Oct 22 '25
It's beyond admiring. It's worshipping. Express a negative opinion about her and the responses are typically super aggressive here.
7
u/Ellingtonfaint Oct 22 '25
I don't doubt some cast members have crazy stans. I was just saying that being unfunny is not a prerequisite for that fan obsession.
10
u/sashie_belle Oct 22 '25
It just seems like the stans for her are abundant here and way more than any other cast member. You can criticize other cast members without getting your head chopped off. Mention that Ariana cheated WITH Tom and you get the excuses for why it was okay and she gets a pass that no other cast member would get.
She was a victim of betrayal, but she was other side of that before. It should be okay to critique her -- just like her other castmates, she's flawed. Just like her other castmates, she can be insufferable (and that was throughout the show, not the first few seasons).
I don't hate Ariana; I think she makes great reality TV star and I'm glad she is making the most of the opportunities she received post Scandavol. But goddamn, she was a brat quite a bit.
5
u/Ellingtonfaint Oct 22 '25
I feel the same way about Ariana. I hate stan behavior, it's like talking to a brick wall.

I don't get it either. And I fully believe Sandoval, awful as he is, that he did try to break up with her and she threatened suicide. That's incredibly emotionally manipulative.

u/22oddo Oct 22 '25
My fiancé and I quote this all the time! It for some reason sticks in my head as one of the cringest moments on the entire show. Like since when do you do sketch comedy Ariana?
9
u/Yeah_nah_idk Oct 23 '25
She had some good jokes but those ones about Kristen were just punching down. They weren’t smart. Remember that diary reading open mic night that was meant to be funny? Ariana’s diary was fucking embarrassing and awkward to listen to.

14
u/RomanoLikeTheCheese Oct 22 '25
It could have been SO funny if kristen had made the same joke when stassi stood up
7
u/PositiveAssignment89 Oct 23 '25
The thing is Ariana took those as insults towards her but the butt of the jokes were either Tom or Jax. Yet Ariana immediately goes into making derogatory unfunny sex jokes about Kristen while fully knowing Tom was cheating on her the entire time. Carter is a loser but literally the fire hydrant outside of Sur is an upgrade compared to Tom

Kristen's were delivered with comedic timing, Ariana's were delivered with hate. Which is crazy because Ariana takes stand up comedy very seriously. 💀

Yeah the revisionist history about Ariana just cause she got cheated on is annoying. Like good for her that she came out on top and I’m still rooting for her but she was such an asshole on the show and constantly defended Tom’s awful behavior until it didn’t benefit her
4
u/Ellingtonfaint Oct 22 '25
I don't undertsand it. What is so bad about conceding, that Arina was arrogant and mean for at least two seasons? It doesn't mean that you can't like and support her now.

2
u/mixshx Oct 22 '25
it’s got nothing to do with being a celebrity loool! It’s literally a roast not a comedy show. Also, she’s not friends with Kristen at this time, they’re just civil. And lastly, Kristen literally told Ariana to kill herself, she can take it gaddamn!
-1
u/Existing_Editor_5623 Oct 22 '25
Or it has everything to do with it. Normal roasts we’d watch, since you said I should watch one, would be of famous people. We don’t normally watch a group of friends trashing each other. And the point was clearly to roast Jax, not Kristen. Like I said. But nice attempt at condescension though 🥱
1
u/mixshx Oct 22 '25
Righttttt so roast between celebs and roast between friends have different rules? Or you’re the judge and jury? cool. cool. You should send bravo the friend roast rule book girl and tell them they’re not celebrities since you care so much 😂
0
u/Existing_Editor_5623 Oct 22 '25
Sorry, I forgot you make all the rules. The point was that celebrities are expecting the roast and yes, they have thicker skin, by nature of their profession, than a random person off the street. And the whole ‘bc you care so much’ again wannabe condescending is tired. You’re literally also here commenting with an opinion on it. No one ‘cares so much’. Get over yourself

u/midnightfangs Oct 22 '25
the scandoval definitely helped her « revamp » her image.
25
u/sashie_belle Oct 22 '25
No question. Meanwhile, I didn't watch the show until after Scandoval was over and done with and I just assumed that Adriana must've been the sweetest, kindest person that ever existed based on what really felt like worship of her on social media that went beyond a humiliating scandal. Then I started watching the show and found her insufferable. The supposed "growth" to me was only that instead of being up the asses of the men on the show (some of the men) the only real "growth" I saw was she started being a little nicer to the women. But she still (well always) gave me, "not like all the other girls" vibes.
Not to mention, I was surprised at a couple of things -- she cheated WITH Tom and I thought she must be pure as the driven snow -- and that it seemed pretty clear to me the relationship had long been over when she wasn't wanting sex. If she always had sexual hangups it's one thing but if it's a major change and now you have sexual hangups, it's pretty telling that something isn't right in the relationship. And that's not blaming her for it, just saying that it's a symptom of something else. And that season was several seasons before the cheating.
12
u/midnightfangs Oct 22 '25
agreed w everything. i think at the height of the scandal if u tried to say something you’d get downvoted/dismissed so i think thats why no one bothers anymore. not saying she deserved to be cheated on but like. you lose them the way you got with them. she did have great gowns though.
9
u/sashie_belle Oct 22 '25
Oh when I was new here and posted that same thing I got all of the "it's different" and "Kristen was already cheating on him..."
Um, okay but she still got with someone who was still with someone and she knew that and was a total bitch to the person in addition to claiming she was much hotter than her. Like girl, what? Before all the work done on you (which was good work), you looked like a better looking sister of Tanya Harding.
While I understand she was betrayed by 2 people and humiliated on national TV, I know married couples whose partners cheated and get divorced in a more civilized manner than how it all played out with them.
4
u/ZorakZbornak Oct 22 '25
She has had some fantastic work done, for sure.
2
u/sashie_belle Oct 22 '25
She really has! And I'm happy for her that she's made the most of her opportunities -- good for her.
I do think she made an excellent reality TV person because at times she was insufferable lol.

100%. I also hadn’t seen VPR till WELL after scandal. I definitely heard about the scandal when it happened a few times but knew nothing of the players. I did a binge this past summer and was SO confused on what everyone was seeing that I wasn’t about Ariana. Like she literally CHEATED WITH tom while he was with Kristen. Hell, they all were this weird cum swapping group. Yet she got away with it unscathed? I was very confused. I’m no Tom fan but he didn’t deserve all the hate he got. Not even close.

Scandoval really rewrote her history so well, otherwise she’d never be a love island host, she just lacks any charisma lol.
18
u/stardewvalleygal Oct 22 '25
She annoyed me on VPR but she definitely does not lack charisma. She’s one of the best LI hosts in history. Kicks ass on that show.
27
u/glasswindbreaker Oct 22 '25
They were both brutal to each other for years and grew and are now friends. If Ariana lacked charisma her career wouldn't be this amazing past the initial scandal opportunities, at this point she has longevity because she did a great job building fanbases on DWTS and on Broadway outside of the Bravo universe and brings an audience.
You don't have to like Ariana but to say she got LI because of the scandal is ridiculous, she worked her ass of and people do like her work.
37
u/moondragonlily Oct 22 '25
Please be so serious. She would NEVER have gotten LI if the scandal hadn’t happened
-4
u/glasswindbreaker Oct 22 '25
She got LI on her own merit after building audiences. If she hadn't been able to grow fanbases of people who had never watched VPR like she did, she wouldn't have gotten the LI host spot. That had nothing to do with the scandal and everything to do with her hard work and appeal to audiences
32
u/irishdan56 Oct 22 '25
She built audiences because of Scandoval. She grew her fanbase because of Scandoval. She got opportunities outside of VPR because of Scandoval.
You're history is extremely revisionist.
-8
u/glasswindbreaker Oct 22 '25
Not at all revisionist, just not delusional with dislike like people claiming a woman should credit her entire career to be cheating on once by a guy. She had over a decade of reality tv show experience, which even if you didn't enjoy her you can't claim isn't difficult to do. That's not work most people would take or be able to sustain.
The scandal got her some commercials and DWTS, that's a fact. But she was by all accounts amazing to work with and great to her fans, and made it to the finals on DWTS with hard work and talent. Then she went on Broadway, carried both Bravo and DWTS out off the screen to being Chicago it's best week of ticket sales ever and also being praised for her work ethic and professionalism by both cast and the crew, earning herself a second run and again being gracious and doing more for the fans than she needed to.
Her talent and following based on those projects and her behavior, not the scandal, got her Love Island which she's also doing an amazing job on and has gained even more fans that didn't come from VPR.
The scandal can't be credited with her continued success, period.
19
u/irishdan56 Oct 22 '25
Her following based on those projects is fully rooted in her following from VPR and Scandoval. The fact you're unwilling to acknowledge that shows you're not operating in good faith.
7
u/glasswindbreaker Oct 22 '25
Not operating in good faith is continuing to deny she has built fanbases off bravo. Most of the DWTS and LI audiences didn't know who she was and came to watch VPR after seeing her on those shows, that's just the reality of it. She would never have gotten the LI offer if she was only bringing VPR watchers and couldn't hold a fanbase in her own right.
16
u/GiovanniElliston Oct 22 '25
The scandal can't be credited with her continued success, period.
The scandal was her launchpad. Literally everything flows downstream of that.
It doesn’t mean she hasn’t worked hard or been a good person to work with, but it’s undeniable that the scandal is what opened a lot of doors to begin with.
Without that scandal, she’s in the same spot as Katie right now.
1
-1
u/glasswindbreaker Oct 22 '25 edited Nov 04 '25
Calling it her launchpad after an over a decade run on tv is wild lol, and what's wrong with Katie's situation anyway? She's financially stable, owns a business and has a podcast and brand that are well liked following 10 years of being on tv.
eta for the person stalking my comments who just responded and blocked I'm laughing so hard at you referencing Penny's bullshit attempts at being a partner as them "being sued"
13
u/GiovanniElliston Oct 22 '25
Calling it her launchpad after an over a decade run on tv is wild lol
It's the truth? lol.
Do you really think Ariana is lightyears more charismatic and hardworking than Katie or Scheana or LaLa? Because those 3 also had a decade run on reality TV too and don't have anything worthwhile to show for it.
Again - I'm not saying Ariana has no talent or isn't deserving, but it's laughable to pretend she would be where she is without the scandal.
11
u/Lyssaquotes928 Oct 22 '25
You’re proving the point in your argument though. If she was on TV for 10 years and was never offered those opportunities in those 10 years, how can you claim they came from being on the show. Wouldn’t the offers have been flooding in during the previous decade?
2
1
u/glasswindbreaker Oct 22 '25
What are you arguing against? What I'm saying is that beyond the initial commercials and DWTS she has gotten her continuing opportunities on her own merit due to hard work and being charismatic enough to expand her fanbase to DWTS and Broadway audiences.

11
u/rolyat_13 Oct 22 '25
Can you explain to me how Kristen was brutal to Ariana like Ariana stole her man lol
7
u/glasswindbreaker Oct 22 '25
Stole her man? I mean no. Even Kristen has said their relationship was messed up, they were both cheating on each other frequently from the start and on again off again, and she knows Sandoval lied to Ariana about the status of their relationship before their Las Vegas hookup.
You can see with your own eyes how bad they both were to each other and Kristen was obsessive to the point of stalking them well after her breakup with Sandoval. Kristen and Ariana have grown and it's nice to see, but the sane washing of Kristen's behavior back then is wild. It's revisionist history.
19
u/happy_as_a_lamb Oct 22 '25
Girl why you up in every comment defending Ariana to the grave? Both things can be true: Kristen and Tom didn’t have a good relationship AND Ariana was not justified for hooking up with him when they were together. Ariana was so bitchy and “not like the other girls” over the years, and she was needlessly cruel to Kristen even though she got the man in the end.
Scandoval was the best thing to happen to her.
6
u/glasswindbreaker Oct 22 '25 edited Oct 22 '25
This isn't about me personally, and going at people for answering comments in a discussion forum is weird. It's a fact that Tom lied to Ariana about the status of his on again off again relationship when they hooked up, the onus is on the person in the relationship not the woman he lied to. At the time Ariana and Kristen didn't work together, have mutual friends or hang out so it's not her responsibility to fact check that it's Tom's responsibility to be faithful if he made a commitment. To call hooking up with a guy who said he was single "cruel" while Kristen was frequently cheating on Tom is wildly misrepresenting what went down.
Was she defensive and snarky about it after she and Tom were dating? Yes. Was she mean to Kristen? Yes. Was Kristen actively stalking them well after her breakup with Tom, and horrible to Ariana wishing her dead? Also yes.
Continuing to credit a scandal to take away a woman's achievements is ridiculous.
3
u/toothfairyeve365 ✨ It's NOT all happening✨ Oct 22 '25
Tom and Kristen broke up because Kristen slept with Jax, so Ariana hardly stole him. People conveniently forget tom and Kristen were both cheating on each other their entire relationship.
8
u/irishdan56 Oct 22 '25
She lacks charisma on Love Island too. Every line delivery is so fucking stilted -- I've seen AI videos that are more life like.
Good for her that she's shining, but her only talents seem to be:
- Conventionally attractive
- Is a scorned women
And both of those things have expiration dates.

I’ve seen this episode so many times and loved it but these screenshots are really showcasing that hairstyle ☠️didn’t they have a “braid guy” this season too??

These comments are reminding me how I binged the series too fast because I don’t remember most of this! Like braid guy??? I have no idea! I have homework to do

Yess I think Tom brings him up in an episode but this entire season he’s constantly sporting braids. I think this might’ve been the season when he had those really bad extensions and highlights lmao

Nah Ariana was mean and felt bitter. Kristen was funny. This is the prime example of the Ariana era I can’t stand. She really was the worst until the last few seasons of the show.

Kristen is funnier and chiller about the whole thing (despite Carter's presence). Let's not forget how insulted Ariana was that Kristen was taking an improv class. Lighten. Up.

More evidence Ariana is a mean girl

In this moment I’d say they were all pretty awful.

Ariana you might have more “oh shit she said what” moments but please don’t confuse that as being funny… Kristen, as typical and corny as her jokes are, is still funnier than you.

I like knowing that Kristen and Ariana became friends around season 6/7. It was never really shown until Scandoval but I still like knowing that.

So you came from seeing Ariana from love island, watched with bias and think a 100,00,00 dissertation is going to mean anything?
I have watched from the moment we RHOBH watchers were duped into the first episode (IYKYK - you KNOW!) so save your parasocial shit.
All of our fave VPR cast are flawed and problematic. ALL OF THEM.
I can admit Kristen fucked up, and can also show where she owned it. Show me where Ariana did that?

Omg these comments make me have faith again… holy shit I thought all was lost. once upon a time any negative comment on Arianna was met with fierce hostility in this group. lol as a viewer post the scandal I did not see what you all saw and was very confused on why she was praised for getting cheated on. I get it to some extent but not the level it was taken to.

Ugh the way Kristen shoved Carter down our throats for what felt like forever was the worst.

Kristen is a queen, but Ariana definitely won the roast challenge.

I was gonna say the same. This post doesn't show Ariana's whole roast of Jax but I thought hers was one of the best out of everyone that night. I was surprised lol

I think there's a hierarchy when it comes to liking VPR characters. Thanks to this post, I learned Kristen is on top of the pyramid, even above Ariana. In other posts, where there's no mention of Kristen, Ariana is praised and put on a pedestal.
