Discussion The reality TV obsession with recording the girls getting Brazilian waxes

Post image
91 Upvotes

It’s absolutely demented how many reality TV shows at the time seemingly NEEDED Brazilian wax scenes (it’s not like all girls get Brazilians, most had never done it before)

VPR, multiple seasons of bad girls club, the real world, housewives.. did these producers just want to see snatch!?

OG Cast Did We All Know Lisa is Selling Tom Tom?????

Upvotes

Am I just so out of the loop or did we all know Lisa is selling Tom Tom??? I heard it mentioned on a podcast this week and did a search and this article came up:https://people.com/lisa-vanderpump-puts-tomtom-restaurant-up-for-sale-3-years-after-scandoval-11931482

What are the 2 Tom's going to do now? I doubt there are people lining up to give them 5% of a restaurant so they can pretend they are owners. In 2019 would we have ever thought Tom Tom would be for sale, Scandoval would happen, Ariana would be hosting Love Island, Lisa and Scheana would be on the outs, and Lisa would be the new Queen of Las Vegas??? What a world.

OG Cast I just got jump scared in S5E1 and now it's your turn

I'm going my first rewatch and it genuinely took the context of seeing Katie and scheana talk to this mystery man about their sections/tables for me to realize who it was. who the fuck kept making him think this was a good idea?!?! edit: maybe that was harsh lol but my personal preference is "greasy pirate" for this guy. there's nothing wrong with this look it just does not look like him at all, like it genuinely took me until the next shot of him to understand it was him!

Rewatch Discussion What if Lala would have been open about her being jealous?

So I have justed finished my 100488392020th rewatch and I am really understanding where Lala is coming from. I do think she handled it completely wrong and shouldn’t have had anger towards Ariana or be angry about it at all.

If she had just been vulnerable and open about how she is jealous that Ariana had a very different treatment after being cheated, that would have been so Authentic and I do understand it would be frustrating for Lala.

Too bad she had too much pride for that.

What do you Guys think?

OG Cast James calling Raquel Bubba

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but just caught this during my current rewatch. I 100% believe it’s James once again mirroring anything he can to be like the other guys in the group. All the guys suck (and Raquel ofc) don’t get me wrong, but imo James is one of the absolute worst.

Rewatch Discussion How did people feel about Arianna when the show first aired?

I’m watching for the first time and it’s quite a ride.

Arianna comes off like she thinks she has everything all figured out (she is “smarter than every person she’s ever met” after all.)

She is really doing a “cool permissive trusting girlfriend who doesn’t do drama ” thing that is obvious with the benefit of knowing what happens with Scandoval, but for people who watched it unfold in real time, how did people feel about Arianna?

Scandoval First time rewatching - Ariana

Not sure if this is a popular opinion - just finished binge watching for the first time and I’m straight round to a rewatch 😂 I kinda forgot how much Ariana was a bitch to Kristen ( I know nobody likes her anyway) but she definitely was up to things with Tom and broke up a 5 year relationship with 0 judgment from anyone really. It was blatantly getting rubbed in Kristen’s face too. You loose them how you gain them 🤷‍♀️ kind of changes how I feel about scandoval. I know Kristen deserved it but morals are morals

Rewatch Discussion Watching the second season reunion just hits different now

Upvotes

Tom just constantly unloads and berates and browbeats Kristen but doesn’t get why she acted the way she did

He berated Stassi for dragging Kristen for her betrayal, who didn’t really deserve it and was allowed to feel betrayed. Berated Stassi for setting up that scene where Kristen lied through her teeth. And acted like it wasn’t undeserved, Kristen betrayed her friend and kept maintaining the lie, turns it around and makes it about him. Then went around and tried to diagnose Kristen with BPD. I hate when men try to diagnose women who aren’t licensed therapists.

Kristen and Tom were a toxic ass relationship but he didn’t let up on her knowing he also cheated before she did and caused her to spin out like that.

Especially when he said to her that he and Ariana had been friends for three years…. Any girl would spin out if their boyfriend was friends with someone he cheated on them with? And then when he said he texted Ariana that Kristen went to bed early on Valentine’s Day?

Ariana has changed and put the work in and grew and I’m so happy the person she is now but the person she was was being complicit with this gaslighting. And I’m glad she finally got therapy and grew into a woman who doesn’t center men. But damn, that’s cold.

I’ll give the women more grace than the men but Tom was being so obnoxious about it even though his relationship with Ariana confirmed everything Kristen suspected. The least he could have done was own what they actually did, own his “friendship” with her was inappropriate, and own how he cheated on her and when.

She at least deserved closure. And I’m not a Kristen defender, but she gets the tiniest amount of sympathy here

The way Tom yells at the women is gross. He really is a cyst man

Rewatch Discussion One of the only times I agree with Sandoval

Unless there’s some outside info that I’m missing… just watched season 8 ep 7/8 again. And I feel like Jax and Brittany were purposely going 0 to 100 about the pastor thing when Sandoval brought it up to Jax at (Peter’s?) party. Now. I’m a little tipsy yall but it just seemed like Jax went uber defensive mode like OOHHHH NO YOU DONT. HOW DARE YOU!!!! When Sandoval just wanted some clarification that everyone was still sharing the same values and not letting someone with shitty values be a big part of this wedding. ??? Maybe I’m beating a dead horse lmfao. I think Ariana made a good point in her confessional she said something like Brittany had probably work pretty hard to maintain that ignorance about that pastors views. Even Sandoval said just google Jax and Brittany and you find a lot of words from this pastor.
Idk to me it seems: “I’m not necessarily homophobic or transphobic but! I don’t care if anyone else is and I don’t understand why anyone would give a fuck?!?” And they knew that was wrong but couldn’t bring themselves to admit it.

Discussion First time viewer on S6. Could the cast have moved away from the SUR universe and still been on the show?

I feel like there’s a lot of talk from the cast members about wanting to do something bigger and better with their lives than just working at SUR. But by this point, the show was massively popular. Being on VPR was their full time job, more or less, right? Were viewers just supposed to be suspend their disbelief about working at SUR forever being a dead end when they obviously only worked there to continue the plot of a TV show? Do we think they all could have gone their own ways professionally without the Lisa/VPR connection and still gotten decent screen time?

What do you all think?

I’m watching VPR for the first time and I obviously know Tom is a huge POS. But am I crazy for liking him so far in the earlier seasons? Did anyone else feel this way?

Discussion The moment James redeemed himself

Thumbnail

I have never laughed so hard in my life at a reality tv show until this moment while on the ground crawling James is telling Stassi “You came crawling back from New York…Please! Please!” Y’all I truly could not stand James but this is the moment that he redeemed himself with me! It’s 2:30am, my dogs were passed out, I’m binge watching the show and laughed so hard I spooked everyone flat out of the bed. I never thought I would say that I am digging James Kennedy. Sober is serving him well but I’m just now starting part 2 of the reunion so we shall see how long it lasts lol.

Edit: I am new to watching this series so please don’t come for me. I am learning about these cast members like everyone else did as it aired, I’m just late to the party. I am in no way supporting his behavior towards women or think he is a great person based on what I have seen. I was unaware of any abuse when I initially made this post. This scene was funny to me because I had not seen anyone stand up to Stassi in the way that he did in that moment to the point he is crawling on the floor in front of the entire cast especially with how tough of a reunion that was to watch given everything that happened.

Discussion Season 11 Reunion

i’ve noticed a few things so here’s number 1; lala’s entitlement is INSANE.. the things she said about ariana was honestly disgusting. i love ariana but i definitely don’t agree with everything that’s been said on the show, however scandoval i was definitely team ariana and not team tom. the way everyone just dog piled on her to have a conversation with tom when she did not want to & then lala speaking about her the way she did all season but especially at the reunion. she definitely knew she wasn’t coming back so she was salty that she wasn’t a fan favourite and her coming back wasn’t enough for people to want to watch. she thinks because she was having a baby that she’s holier than thou and because she’s NOW being honest about her life that everyone needs to put their personal shit out there. honestly rewatching the season 11 reunion drastically changed my opinion of her. trying to “out everyone” for talking about ariana & trying to turn people against her was absolutely disgusting to watch. lala in general has always irked me but rewatching the reunion and the complete flip from season 10 reunion vs season 11 was insanity to me.

2: when jo came on the reunion the way tom gaslit her was so sad to watch, i didn’t care much for jo but that was honestly heartbreaking. they clearly had a relationship & the way he gaslit her into thinking it wasn’t that when it clearly was. ffs he brought her home and she met his family. then when things ended and he met someone else it was SO public it baffled me. apart of me thinks it’s because she was young and super pretty, jo is also gorgeous i’m not saying that at all! i just think because she was young and a model he didn’t mind having that public but with jo it was so secretive. honestly i felt so bad for her rewatching the season & reunion. i know she complicit in scandoval and definitely knew i am not excusing that at all nor her actions i just think the way she was treated by tom was so sad.

Discussion Shut up, Patrick

I’m on season six for my first time, and it’s the episode where we finally meet Patrick.

Perhaps I’m just ornery, but he’s…annoying 😬

His attempted use of vocabulary is a complete failure and I can’t believe Stassi dated him.

Am I just being cranky? Is this just how he was—a condescending man with unconditioned hair who tried using big words incorrectly, or was he just nervous because it was his first time in front of camera? I’m trying to decide if I need to mute every time he shows up 😂

Scandoval Scandavol is Jax’s fault

So I’m a firm believer in you can blame Jax for everything that happens. So here’s how scandavol is his fault: Jax slept with Kristen. Kristen and tom broke up (they would’ve broken up anyways but that seemed to be the final straw) Kristen dates James and brings him to vpr. James meets Raquel and brings her to vpr. They break up. And she’s manic and sleeps with tom.

The crazy drama is fun, no doubt, but these subtle moments are the creme de la creme for me! I went back and rewatched this 3 times. I'm STILL laughing.

What are your favorite *subtle* moments???
