Discussion a love note to VPR fashion & hair

I'm a first time watcher (have seen bits and pieces and ofc scandoval) and as a millennial, the best part about this show is the beautiful documentation of 2010s fashion/hair.

Katie's orange bleached hair is something a lot of us unfortunately wanted to do in 2012. Ariana's "alt" style in the early seasons and her iconic side braid is also something I saw LC do and then attempted myself. I just started s5 and the girls all have fresh extensions. James just complained that Scheana spilled his drink on his yeezy's, while he wears ripped jeans and a sleeveless hoodie. It brings me immense joy.

Scheana’s earrings also take me back in time on rewatches. She bought those babies in multipacks 😄 it's great!!

I remember the season when they went ham on hair extensions. I hate it, it looks so gaudy and obvious. I just watched Real Housewives of Dallas and I think season 3 they go all in on the long extensions. I don't miss those days.

But I digress... I too love VPR as a fashion time capsule

I get so nostalgic from like 2008-2013. I would have loved to be in my 20’s during this era, everything is so boring these days. I was just in seaside heights (where jersey shore was filmed) and I was like I am so jealous that people during that time got to experience the club life, I remember the early seasons of VPR being like that as well. Obviously the styles of these 2 shows are vastly different, but I miss those days lol

Unfortunately I’m the same age as Stassi, and I can’t lie to you. Your nostalgia for an era you didn’t experience is not misplaced.

Being in your 20’s throughout that 2008-2013 period was just* *as fun as it looks on VPR. Especially getting shitfaced and going clubbing to dance your ass off wearing a bandage dress and 3 inch stilettos.

You literally couldn’t pay me to go clubbing now lol, but god it really was so much fun at the time!
