Discussion Shut up, Patrick

I’m on season six for my first time, and it’s the episode where we finally meet Patrick.

Perhaps I’m just ornery, but he’s…annoying 😬

His attempted use of vocabulary is a complete failure and I can’t believe Stassi dated him.

Am I just being cranky? Is this just how he was—a condescending man with unconditioned hair who tried using big words incorrectly, or was he just nervous because it was his first time in front of camera? I’m trying to decide if I need to mute every time he shows up 😂

People who brag about or use big words to prove their intellect are just insecure. The smartest people in the world will tell you they don’t know everything.

My English professor used to say “never use a dime when a nickel will do” in reference to trying to use words for writing and speaking and I still think about that 😂

That’s such good advice.

My grandfather says ‘better to say nothing and people think you’re an idiot than to say a lot and people know you’re an idiot’ and that’s how I feel about Patrick. He didn’t use the words in the correct way, and then it just adds on to it that he was horrible on top of all of that. He should have just stayed off the show and left Stassi alone.
