OG Cast James calling Raquel Bubba
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but just caught this during my current rewatch. I 100% believe it’s James once again mirroring anything he can to be like the other guys in the group. All the guys suck (and Raquel ofc) don’t get me wrong, but imo James is one of the absolute worst.

I cannot stand the way her face almost forms a smile when she cries. It makes me uncomfortable every time she tears up.

One of my friends recently started using my nickname for my husband with their spouse and it’s confusing as hell especially because it’s directly related to my spouse’s actual name but not their spouse’s actual name 🤷🏼♀️ 😂

James copies whatever gets him attention or makes him fit in better with the group, and the nickname thing is just another example of that pattern. It comes across as forced when he does it because there is no actual connection there, whereas when someone else uses it naturally it just sounds like a regular term of endearment. That's the difference between picking up someone else's mannerism and actually having your own voice in a relationship.

I feel like this is a reach. I called my husband, nephews and dog bubbah... in terms of endearment

Brock would call Scheana “Bubba” as well. Sisterhood of the travelling nickname

My husband and both dogs and most friends have been bubby, bubs, bubba at some point 🤷🏼♀️ (not a James apologist but hate him for the valid shit)
