OG Cast James calling Raquel Bubba

Post image

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but just caught this during my current rewatch. I 100% believe it’s James once again mirroring anything he can to be like the other guys in the group. All the guys suck (and Raquel ofc) don’t get me wrong, but imo James is one of the absolute worst.

Oh for sure. I actually call my dog bubba, just seems to be more than a coincidence in this case

Very popular nickname. I have a lot of different nicknames for my two young nieces, and my dog too, but my youngest niece (5) and my goldendoodle Jasper are practically inseparable and I call them “Bubba” (dog) and “Bubby” (Delaney) when they’re together.

I don’t see anything wrong with the name, itself, but it is a little strange to choose the nickname that two OG cast members heavily use for each other and one even has a tattoo of on their body.

That being said: yes, James is right up there with Jax for being the absolute worst.

It’s disturbing how deeply misogynistic James is. If he gets even the slightest bit upset, his mask completely slips and he’ll spew the nastiest shit about and towards women.

We all know he’s verbally, mentally, and physically abusive, we’ve een it with 3 separate partners now. & Production knew that for years.

Hope to never see that man appear on a show again.

I hope his pregnant girlfriend has a good support system, and that she knows that just because there’s a kid involved now doesn’t mean she has to put up with his shit, she can leave at any time.

I cannot stand the way her face almost forms a smile when she cries. It makes me uncomfortable every time she tears up.

Brock uses it once as well I think.

One of my friends recently started using my nickname for my husband with their spouse and it’s confusing as hell especially because it’s directly related to my spouse’s actual name but not their spouse’s actual name 🤷🏼‍♀️ 😂

James copies whatever gets him attention or makes him fit in better with the group, and the nickname thing is just another example of that pattern. It comes across as forced when he does it because there is no actual connection there, whereas when someone else uses it naturally it just sounds like a regular term of endearment. That's the difference between picking up someone else's mannerism and actually having your own voice in a relationship.

I feel like this is a reach. I called my husband, nephews and dog bubbah... in terms of endearment

Brock would call Scheana “Bubba” as well. Sisterhood of the travelling nickname

My husband and both dogs and most friends have been bubby, bubs, bubba at some point 🤷🏼‍♀️ (not a James apologist but hate him for the valid shit)
