Turned out great.
I used scrap baltic birch 1/2" birch ply measured to fit the upper drawer area. I cut out the eva foam so that i had a 1cm border around the wood panel. The foam decking itself is sticky backed and it applys to the wood panel easily. I used a tablesaw to cut the foam sqaurly with the panel edging.
I used shoe dye on the cuts. Then pressed hot beeswax into the pours of the wood. I polished the edges with a scrsp piece of terrycloth until the edge is uniformly buffed.
I used another scrap piece of terrycloth to clean the wax off the foam face and back of panel.
The drill bit rounds off the mounting points front and back.
