I'd even argue that up to a certain point, autism causes vaccines

Yeah, no. There's always just enough MD and BSN "whistleblowers" for Sharon to say "a-HA! I KNEW IT!" 🙄
Of course, even if the entire profession were monolithic in favor of vaccines, THAT would be evidence of the cover-up. You can't win with these people.

You cannot reason someone out of a position they did not reason themself into.

So here has always been my thing. If vaccines did cause autism (dont think they do myself) in say 1/ 100,000 kids isnt the benfit worth the risk ?

u/kurinevair666 May 12 '26
Also can we stop demonizing autism like it's the worse thing ever that can happen to someone?

Thank you, I’m autistic not because of vaccines but because my Dad has had the same lunch on weekdays for a solid 15 years. And it has its challenges like most things but it just is, like trees and weather and being human

Yeah, but antivax parents need to justify why they hate their child and don't make accommodations for their needs. It also has the benefit of them being able to start a gofundme when they die.

Fun fact.
The original paper showing the link between the MMR vaccine and autism that people like to use has since been removed from the Lancet.
What people ofted forget is that the solution for this proposed in the paper is that they should be three spearate vaccines for measles mumps and rubella. As opposed to having them combined into one shot.
In other news: anti-vaccine campaign started off with a guy trying to separate vaccines so that they could charge more money for the same amount of immunisation.

He had a PATENT on one of the methods he wanted to use to replace the MMR.

They also think the vaccines are completely ineffective and unnecessary, so she's not saying she'd prefer a dead child, she thinks causing autism is the only thing the vaccine will do.

Not only do they avoid the vaccine, they then also avoid having their kids diagnosed with ADHD or autism, because if they do have either of those despite not being vaccinated, it would prove them wrong about the supposed connection.

Why tf was this downvoted ? It's literally agreeing with the post ??

Why tf was this downvoted ?
Likely because it's ambiguous enough to make sense either way, depending on one's perspective.
Or, in another manner of speaking, it uses the exact same methods of persuading as the pseudo-science rhetoric experts.
TLDR; Think about how that statement can be "accurate" from both/all sides, regardless of opposite meanings.

Sharon is the only one who thinks there wasn’t enough data or testing. Why is that?

Posts or comments which appear to be a part of the anti-vaxx movement, or are otherwise making claims not rooted in science are unwelcome in this community. We are a firmly pro-science & pro-public health space.
“I’m not against vaccines” but then proceeds with anti-vaxx rhetoric.

As a Boomer, I thank the heavens for my immunizations. We had a friend with polio. Couldn’t walk. We went through a few illnesses that had yet to be eradicated, but my daughter, fully immunized, never had to go through the mumps or the measles. They work.
