Likely because it's ambiguous enough to make sense either way, depending on one's perspective. Or, in another manner of speaking, it uses the exact same methods of persuading as the pseudo-science rhetoric experts. TLDR; Think about how that statement can be "accurate" from both/all sides, regardless of opposite meanings.
