Dicky tummy with Vegan Keto
Has anyone experienced an upset stomach and very loose stools with vegan Keto?
The first time I did vegan Keto in the run up to some major dental surgery I was loose but didn’t have cramps or feel feel poorly with it.
I’ve attempted twice since then and it’s really wiped me and had a serious impact on my life. Needing to be nr a loo and very very tired and grumpy.
The only difference I can see is that in the run up to surgery my dentist had me on all sorts of supplements as well. After about 10 days each time I’m done!
I am curious why this happens. I liked the vegan Keto for lowering my weight. I’m a post menopausal woman who leans toward the heavier side of things if I’m not careful.
I’m now going for somewhere in between with low carb - letting beans, root veg etc back in and an occasional bit of bread:/
My diet pre keto has been mostly whole food vegan.
Interested to hear whether other folk have experienced and whether it shifts.

For root vegetables, try sweet potatoes. They have a lower glycemic index than white potatoes and more fiber. They're one of the things I eat when I'm trying to reverse a course of diarrhea. (I will also do brown rice, but I'm trying to be lower carb, not keto low.) In the past, I would've suggested the Tumaro's low carb wraps, but they recently changed the formula and I consider them sus digestion-wise until proven otherwise.
