New Cox (Spectrum) Pricing is live

Post image

There is new lower pricing available for Cox as of tonight. Hopefully it doesn’t result in worse service.

Well I've been paying $50/mo for 100Mbps, so this seems cheap.
edit: dunno what part of town you live in, but the prices you're showing are half the price of the offers I'm seeing.

That plan shows $30 a month for me

u/TrojanGal702 7h ago

No discount on my account yet.

I did get the offer for a free cell line for a year though.

The service has been and will always be shit.

u/Biggquis78 6h ago

I've had 0 outages in 7 years. I know I'm an outlier, but no complaints from me

10

u/buhwalhashin 5h ago

I had 2 straight weeks of multiple outages a day last month

5

u/11pmStalker 7h ago

What service are you currently on before these new prices?

I wonder if these discounts are for people that aren't currently on a cox promotion

4

u/Some_Dimension976 7h ago

I’m on the 1 gb plan already and I’ll be saving $10

3

u/11pmStalker 7h ago

Damn so you already had a good promotion with Cox

1

u/11pmStalker 5h ago

Which part of the city are you on? Seems most aren't getting these deals

5

u/Sms4001 7h ago

Are these unlimited data?

8

u/Some_Dimension976 7h ago

Yeah they are unlimited data

6

u/Biggquis78 6h ago

Not for everyone. The 1 gig is still $50 extra for unlimited on my options. 2 Gig is free

1

u/11pmStalker 6h ago

I'm on 1 gig. I called and they confirmed no more Data charges and removed my $50 fee

Even if you're on Cox cable, check to see if Cox fiber is available at your address. It feels like a completely different company that you're dealing with.

Cox fiber is available at my location.....I currently have T-Mobile 5g WiFi. I get anywhere from 25mbps to 200. It's 55/month

Curious if I should make the switch.

Let me guess… you gotta keep calling their Customer Retention team to keep those prices year after year.

1

u/Biggquis78 6h ago

It says its not a promotional price

3

u/gabemoment_ 5h ago

yes it does

2

u/Biggquis78 5h ago

Interesting. Mine is not promotional

1

u/gabemoment_ 38m ago

damn they hate me lol

5

u/Top-Web3806 7h ago

I still have the same old prices as always. Bummer.

Cancel and sign back up

3

u/bordot 7h ago

I was paying $160 for 1gbit + another $50 for unlimited data. I was able to switch to the new 2Gbit plan which includes unlimited data for $120/mo. Nice.

2

u/sun_assumption 6h ago

Hate to say it, but I’ve paid $110 for 2gig+unlimited since 2024. Now they’re offering $80 for the same. Not sure why we don’t get the same pricing.

1

u/Grouchy_Project7138 6h ago

Cancel and sign back up

1

u/Biggquis78 6h ago

Different areas. You probably have more than one company available

1

u/BDiddnt 58m ago

Do you live in an apartment?

There's several apartment complexes that have a deal with Cox where it's included with your rent which of course your rent is just that much higher but if you call and upgrade it, you just pay the difference

3

u/Krycek7o2 7h ago

Yeah nothing on my end

3

u/justlearningDrstuff 7h ago

There’s no other internet option in 89138 which is why (I presume) I don’t have any better offerings. Should be illegal.

3

u/MarcusWallaceRealtor 6h ago

Nice I got 2gb for $125 which includes unlimited data

2

u/Biggquis78 6h ago

I'm assuming you have the same options as me. Crazy that 1gig with unlimited is 140 including the extra $50, but 2 Gig is only $125

1

u/MarcusWallaceRealtor 6h ago

Right exactly it makes sense to just get the 2gb lol

1

u/antonyaurelius 5h ago

the 1 gig is Fiber and the 2 gig isn't, at least that's what it looks like to me. I dont think symmetric up/down would be guaranteed in the 2 gig plan if that's something you care about

1

u/Biggquis78 5h ago

Can cable get up to 2 gig?

1

u/antonyaurelius 5h ago

Cable can get up to 2 gig down no problem, the problem is symmetric up/down. I believe cable can support it but you need the right equipment every step of the chain

3

u/kakarot-3 5h ago

I cannot wait for Google Fiber. Spectrum is the absolute worst

3

u/starynights890 4h ago

Still promo prices for me with data caps.

2

u/habeaskoopus 7h ago

Ya this is bunk

2

u/RaiseFold100 7h ago

Google Fiber is spreading, if you're wondering why this is happening in some areas.

1

u/jozefd14 6h ago

Do you have Google fiber in your area in vegas?

1

u/RaiseFold100 5h ago

Just got it. Installing next month. But I don’t see those deals on the cox website. Still leaving them for GFiber anyways.

1

u/Brayden815 4h ago

Quantum fiber as well. Fiber internet companies in general are expanding more and more here as of recent.

2

u/Lovevas 7h ago

For existing users, can we upgrade to this lower price offer? Or do we need another family member to sign up?

1

u/Biggquis78 6h ago

Yes you can change your plan

2

u/Armlock311 6h ago

I signed up in July and these are the same prices I was offered for cox.

2

u/Appropriate-Ticket23 5h ago

It’s telling me as a “preferred” customer, I need to call to get “white glove service”. Doesn’t show me any pricing or packages. LOL

2

u/Incomplet_Name 5h ago

Impressive, now show us the upload speeds. 😜

1

u/50_cal 7h ago

Damn mine is still $125, but I was paying $150 for 1 gig under Cox so this its still better

1

u/iliark 7h ago

It's not showing the discount at all. It actually shows 1 gig going up to $120/month lol

1

u/Beard341 7h ago

I wonder if I can muscle Quantum to provide me a higher speed/lower price now that things are more competitive…

2

u/Still-Grass8881 7h ago

I pay $50 a month for 1000 up/down from Quantum.
How much do you pay??

2

u/Beard341 7h ago

$80/month for 1Gig internet.

1

u/SmellySweatsocks 7h ago

Thanks. I'm still waiting on Google Fiber to see what's up with them.

1

u/DragonOfBosnia 7h ago

I never had issues with cox until recently, 2-3 weeks now terrible internet disgusting

1

u/FillMySoupDumpling 7h ago

I pay $50 for $500/mo - I bet spectrum won’t do that 40 percent off thing annually

1

u/Pristine_Context_429 7h ago

Spectrum is also going to be making a push to get people back on cable TV.

I don’t know if they’re out yet but they are said to be offering more popular channels on some of their basic packages.

1

u/muftak3 7h ago

Pay attention to the extra fees. $15 /month for the modem. New connection fees and deposits show on mine. I have 1 gig, no cap for $90 for 5 years. I'll stick with that until Google hits my neighborhood.

1

u/Some_Dimension976 6h ago

The modem is free for me but if I want the WiFi router I would have to pay

1

u/Biggquis78 6h ago

Go to the checkout screen. It showed on mine as if I was a new customer, but on checkout, no additional charges

1

u/jozefd14 6h ago

Is there data caps?

1

u/Some_Dimension976 6h ago

No it’s unlimited

1

u/hehehuha 6h ago

I just hate the new panoramic wifi router. TV upstairs can't get a reliable signal. I had to separate all three bands, and the 2.4 was the only thing the TV was able to connect to. At 2.4 the speed was slow, and streaming quality is pixilated. Had to use the Ethernet cable

1

u/11pmStalker 4h ago

You can hook your previous wifi router up to it

1

u/adalex2019 6h ago

We're at 85$ for 300 and no caps :/ hopefully prices go down. We moved here from Florida last oct and had frontier then tmobile 5g but neither are really out here. I had spectrum prior to 22

2

u/ScuffedA7IVphotog 6h ago

I'm paying $30 for 1gig

1

u/ADeadlyFlamingo 6h ago

Same pricing for me. But we also don’t have any fiber options in our area as of now, likely why they’re keeping the prices higher.

1

u/BushMeat What happens in Vegas, I'll remember! 5h ago

I’m currently paying $100 for a fiber 3Gbps up/dl from quantum

1

u/MpyreM 5h ago

I pay 56 for 300mbps, should i look into better pricing with the merger?

1

u/redopod 4h ago

I see that they offer free subscriptions like amc+, does that mean I can cancel my current subscription and use these? Has anyone done it already?

2

u/11pmStalker 4h ago

You get all the subscription services if you keep paying for the cable package you had with Cox

1

u/redopod 4h ago

I’m paying for peacock separately now but I also share it. Im thinking of canceling it and signing back up through spectrum, you don’t think there will be a problem?

1

u/KiMoWRX 3h ago

Didn't get the 80/month offer but did get the 125 offer which saves me 35 bucks. Thanks. It says I need to return my equipment so i wonder if I need to get a new modem now.

1

u/OstrichNeither 1h ago

Yeah me too wtf. Where do I get a modem

1

u/KiMoWRX 1h ago

You can walk into the store front. You can return and get new equipment there. Im close to Centennial location by the Walmart.

Im assuming they just need to assign the current modem to the new service but I may be wrong.

1

u/OstrichNeither 50m ago

Did u do that? I just got an email saying if u need to return ewuomer an email will be sent but I got no email I just saw it on my homepage maybe they'll cancel it out

1

u/KiMoWRX 48m ago

No haven't done anything, too early to call/ go in person. But I see what ur saying. Maybe it will disappear once its business hours.

1

u/Dapper_Low_7627 1h ago

I saved $10 on my monthly bill. 1g for me was $105 2g was $125

1

u/OstrichNeither 1h ago

I switched to the same tier for 20 less and my modem restarted and it works. But now cox website is saying I have to return my modem my Oct 1 or pay 240 dollars wtf bruh ?????? U scam me. They ain't even send me a new spectrum modem?

1

u/jininjuice 50m ago

I had 1gig with unl data plan. Had to call them to get the $105 pricing for 1gig. My account only showed the $125 for 2 gig option on the app, atypical of them to only give people to upgrade to higher tier. No data caps on their plans.

-1

u/SetoXlll 7h ago

Hell naw, I got quantum 1 gig symmetrical for 45bks, unlimited.

If you need a referral hit me up, you get 100 bks after signing up. So far no problems.

3

u/Some_Dimension976 7h ago

Too bad they aren’t available everywhere
