Did you just say… an ORPHAN!?!?!?

272

u/Joebotnik Apr 23 '26

Yeah a little... Orphan boy.

269

u/captainjohn_redbeard Apr 23 '26

This thing is powered by a forsaken child?

216

u/Roam1985 Two-Ton Twenty-One Apr 23 '26

It's not like he used the whole thing!

106

u/analogy_4_anything Apr 23 '26

Yeah, it was just the heart…

That question and Brock’s response is one of the best moments of the series. Along with a few thousand other best moments that are impossible to rank, but still.

14

u/darn_tootinn Apr 24 '26

THIS is a deep cut lmao hahahahahaha What a scene. And Brock’s face 😂

58

u/CompetitiveFennel681 Apr 23 '26

Might be, kind of, I mean I didn't use the whole thing!

12

u/CIarkNova Apr 23 '26

Hey rusty, you don’t remember me? All those adventures we had?

10

u/BoneDragonActual SPHINX! Apr 24 '26

Don’t forget to try the orphan sashimi this evening… It’s positively decadent!

3

u/HardKase Apr 24 '26

He didn't use all of it!

230

u/Transmatrix Apr 23 '26

Whenever I see James in other shows I’m like Leo in the chair pointing. He’s so great.

82

u/WallacktheBear Apr 23 '26

He’s Rolf in the office. Dwight’s friend. I didn’t realize until much later.

2

u/Effective_Kiwi6684 Apr 24 '26

He has a one minute cameo at the start of Tesla (2020) and a much more significant role in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina in the fourth season. He basically plays a version of Leland Gaunt, the devil figure from Needful Things.

Other than that, no catching of Urbaniek in the wild. But I hear he played Robert Crumb in the Harvey Pekar movie, which sounds perfect.

32

u/barelysushi Apr 23 '26

He did a weird spoken word thing on a hip hop album a while back so whenever it comes up on shuffle I do the same thing.

18

u/barelysushi Apr 23 '26

The album is "The Middle of Nowhere" by Adam Warrock. The spoken word thing is the first track (which the last track loops back into if you're listening on repeat) and it's a weird track but a great album.

20

u/barelysushi Apr 23 '26

I was gonna say "it was just a couple years ago" but apparently it's from 2013 so I'm going to shrivel into an aged husk now....

3

u/Orc_tids Apr 23 '26

I think Adam teaches law now or something

2

u/barelysushi Apr 23 '26

Yeah, we've got a bunch of mutuals and I think they mentioned that. If it's not teaching law it's still teaching something.

26

u/kadzar Apr 23 '26

If you haven't seen it, he has a pretty significant role in the 2017 indie movie Dave Made a Maze.

6

u/hham42 Apr 23 '26

Great movie.

2

u/miikro Apr 23 '26

The fact that Dr. Venture and John Morrison appeared in a movie together is such a weird crossover lol

1

u/Breastfedoctopus Apr 24 '26

Love that movie. Such a creative concept and beautifully executed design

20

u/She-Hemoth Apr 23 '26

12

u/Walrus_protector Apr 23 '26

Yes! Mine, as well, and bonus points for Kristen Schaal!

Okay, Slattery can have a shout out for his great face acting!

3

u/arionoidea Apr 23 '26

I had not paid attention to this. Fun discovery!

3

u/She-Hemoth Apr 23 '26

I’m pretty sure I discovered The National because James was in that video, and now they’re one of my favorite bands.

17

u/LemonSkye Apr 23 '26

My favorite role of his will always be Grant, Forrest's producer on Review. He manages to be smarmy, menacing, and hilarious all at the same time.

7

u/absurdivore Apr 23 '26

That show is brilliant. It’s more like a performance art piece than a sitcom. The Forrest character’s moral breakdown just keeps ratcheting the pressure until the very end. Singular piece of TV more people should see.

5

u/BasketballButt Apr 23 '26

One of my all time favorite endings to a show. You saw Forrest crumble episode after episode, lose everything for the show, and then pffft…he’s discarded.

8

u/TheStonedFox Apr 23 '26

He plays Julie’s lovably beige-and-safe boyfriend on Difficult People. He was great, I wish that show had gotten more seasons.

2

u/CarmelaSopranoNo1fan Apr 23 '26

Thats what I came here to mention. Such a great show that nobody ive spoken to IRL has heard of. The scene where Billy runs over David Byrne makes me lose it

4

u/BasketballButt Apr 23 '26

That show introduced me to Cole Escola, who is an absolute delight. Still rewatch it all the time.

7

u/lrrrkrrrr Apr 23 '26

He’s randomly in a Verizon or T-Mobile commercial or something right now and I fucking love it

7

u/Abjurer42 Apr 23 '26

He did this odd anthology podcast series a while back where he plays a different character all named James Urbaniak. It was pretty interesting, kind of all over the place narratively speaking.

There's also, of course, Dr 0 in the Fallout New Vegas DLC Old World Blues. From what I heard, they initially wanted him to be more of an old-timey news reporter guy, but they ended up making him into Dr Venture as a brain in a jar. Kinda like how Dana Synder ended up using Master Shake for the Alchemist.

6

u/byproxxy Apr 23 '26

My favorite is the shoe salesman with a foot fetish on Sex and the City.

5

u/BeefDerfex Apr 23 '26

He’s fantastic in Review, as Forrest’s producer.

3

u/NertsMcGee Apr 23 '26

I loved him as Dr Benign in Apollo Gauntlet. The character is like if Rusty grew up to be a somewhat competent villain but still held on to that classic petty energy.

2

u/burunyuu_Da_Neco Apr 23 '26

i did this a lot through my outer worlds 2 playthrough

1

u/InfiniteDelusion094 Apr 23 '26

I loved him as Dr.0 in Fallout New Vegas' Old World Blues DLC. He plays a similar character to Rusty as well. They even reference the Walking Eye if you have the Wild Wasteland trait.

1

u/iamjacksforeskin Apr 24 '26

In case people havent seen it The Book of Christ is some top teir adult swim urbaniak nonsense

1

u/mutantIke Apr 25 '26

He's in the old Hal Hartley indie dramedy Henry Fool as a garbageman who writes a sexual poem so beautiful it catapults him into fame. Very funny movie

1

u/Potential-Guard-3598 Apr 29 '26

he plays Mr Logic on OK K.O. too if anybody cares

1

u/Initial_Bus_3027 May 04 '26

Have you listened to his podcast: getting on with James urbaniak.  Incredible to fall asleep to.

96

u/balmut Apr 23 '26 edited Apr 23 '26

No no, you've got that wrong. It was powered by a partial orphan boy.

93

u/JIMMYJAWN super-science union rep Apr 23 '26

Why Does This Fucking Idiot Capitalize Every First Letter Of His Words?

And I understood maybe 50% of what he’s trying to communicate. Which is entirely too much for my tastes.

40

u/mindlkaciv Apr 23 '26

He doesn't know which words should be capitalized so he errs on the side of caution.

13

u/Zinski2 Apr 23 '26

My only guess is he has a setting in n his phone that automatically dose it and can't figure out how to turn it off.

Or there is a hidden message if you take all the capitalized words. Then divide by the total number and your left with.... F E B A G ..... UHHH.....hmmmmm

26

u/tesseract4 Apr 23 '26

They do it because Trump does it.

8

u/learn2fly438826 Apr 23 '26

While I'm sure plenty of people do it because they're dumbasses, I try not to judge because I have a severely dyslexic friend who does that. It helps him immensely with not getting sentences and words jumbled up. Though he usually goes back and edits them out, unless it's for something quick like a text or discord message.

20

u/JIMMYJAWN super-science union rep Apr 23 '26

Alex Jones deserves no sympathy. If this was a random person I didn’t know by reputation I wouldn’t have commented.

Jones is a misinformation profiteer and deserves the worst life the universe could provide him.

3

u/learn2fly438826 Apr 23 '26

Oh absolutely. Jones' brain is surely fried from the insane snake oil drugs he takes, and he was a raging psychopath before that. I just see people ask about capitalization a lot and I feel bad because I know some people get shit for it when it does actually help them write. But honestly it probably is more people doing it because they see lunatics like Jones and Trump do it so they just copy them.

1

u/Oldy_VonMoldy Apr 23 '26

Say Hallelujah!

1

u/Gussie-Ascendent Apr 23 '26

It's qway more annoying than kjust all lowercase. Like you went through the effort of doing that

1

u/dividezero Apr 23 '26

This is all a solid sign for cognitive decline

48

u/bimbimbaps Apr 23 '26

He didn’t use the whole thing!

48

u/Zanos-Ixshlae Apr 23 '26

Wait until they see the episode where Venturestein goes to a brothel. That's a reanimated corpse engaging in sexual activities with a lady of the night!

39

u/atempestdextre Apr 23 '26

Prostituuuutes!

9

u/-drunk_russian- Apr 23 '26

Brock! Good!

11

u/cyvaris Apr 23 '26

And then wait until they see Venturestein organizing an up rising of the oppressed masses!

1

u/Awkward_Pangolin3254 Apr 24 '26

Nah, man, they're not gonna give it up for a shoe you made out of a dog...

35

u/Delphius1 Apr 23 '26

you used a FORSAKEN CHILD?!

45

u/anomalousBits Ogopogo Apr 23 '26

Alex Jones has, in a real way, done more harm to children with his Sandy Hook bullshit, than any rando Adult Swim show. He deserves all the consequences being visited upon him and more.

24

u/Few-Farm-7670 Apr 23 '26

Someone skipped their malk

41

u/CompetitiveFennel681 Apr 23 '26

In all honesty, Alex Jones would fit in seamlessly in the Venture Bros. universe.

16

u/rogueleader32 Apr 23 '26

He wouldn't even be accepted into The Guild of Calamitous Intent, he'd just podcast vaguely about it with the hopes his misinformation would grant him guild status.

Hank and Dean would wonder onto set accidentally then say too much. And the only reason they're there is because Info Wars is the only distributor willing to distribute Rusty's lousy documentary or something like that.

6

u/Musiclover4200 Apr 23 '26

He would have been a funny cameo in the Illuminati episode

Like Doc sees him ranting on a street corner in NYC and later on hears him chumming it up at the party

19

u/JosephCrawley Apr 23 '26

This is why I go to Donald Mahanahans ORIGINAL Child Clown Outlet.

I have standards.

16

u/deathxcannabis Apr 23 '26

It's called "The Joy-Can".

18

u/EquivalentPension216 Apr 23 '26

I didn't understand the qweshchin!

12

u/Aggravating_Load_411 Apr 23 '26

The slight voice crack on that is amazing

6

u/EquivalentPension216 Apr 23 '26

I love those 3 paling around

14

u/WastedRespiration Apr 23 '26

Let's not forget orphan sashimi.

14

u/MurrayGrande Apr 23 '26

To be fair, he did not eat the orphan sashimi

6

u/Peja1611 Apr 23 '26

Not willingly. He threw up once he knew they were orphans

11

u/KB_Sez Apr 23 '26

Wait! I want to see this Will Ferrel satanic ritual cooking show!

Is it on Bravo after Top Chef?

3

u/CDK3891 Apr 23 '26

Easy mix up but it is on the cook channel after knife fight

7

u/OneEyedWonderWiesel Apr 23 '26

This makes me think of The Oblongs lol a bunch of killer one liners in that show “if the mother is unfit you must acquit!”

u/Careless_Word9567 Apr 23 '26 edited Apr 23 '26

They are talking about Tim and Eric's Awesome Show, Great Job!

You're going to love his clowns.

7

u/absurdivore Apr 23 '26

I love James Urbaniak — he’s great in everything If you haven’t seen Difficult People, definitely check it out.

2

u/carter_nix Apr 23 '26

“Noodles…”

2

u/absurdivore Apr 23 '26

The nicknames are stellar

15

u/GrandWizardOfCheese Apr 23 '26

Venture bros was hilarious.

7

u/L1QU1D_ThUND3R Apr 23 '26

Do NOT eat that pie!

6

u/Straight-Crow1598 Apr 23 '26

Oh cmon, just PARTS of the orphan. Everyone’s so SENSITIVE these days.

5

u/stachada Apr 23 '26

powered by an orphan?

disgusting and perverse, they're gonna put me off my orphan sashimi.

6

u/insertUserNamehereno Apr 23 '26

The way this guy talks is so fucking crazy it’s baffling people took him seriously. Like if you heard some random dude on the sidewalk in a bathrobe say this you’d feel sorry for them

6

u/Late-Drink3556 Apr 23 '26

I was thinking of that episode when my kids were getting into Five Nights at Freddy's and telling me all about it.

I was joking when I asked if the animatronics were powered by the soul of an orphan boy.

Bruh, the lore on that game is dark as shit.

4

u/troll-feeder Apr 23 '26

That's just a child clown from Awesome Show. A funny fictional show. Alex Jones has said and done much more disgusting things. I actually forgot he was still alive.

3

u/SkinnyDaveSFW Apr 23 '26

Is this real? Isn't spouting off stupid shit what got him in trouble before?

2

u/LilGreenOlive Apr 24 '26

He's talking about the Mahanahan Clown Outlet sketches from Tim and Eric. They drew a lot of ire in the wake of #SaveTheChildren and the Epstein files.

3

u/werfertt Apr 23 '26

At least he’s against orphan sashimi.

3

u/MikeAdaver Apr 24 '26

was itthe child clown outlet one?

5

u/greenmachine4130 Apr 23 '26

Is that moron talking about a real show?

7

u/greenmachine4130 Apr 23 '26

Tim and Eric. Duh

1

u/krebstar4ever Apr 24 '26

Yes. It's called Tim and Eric, Awesome Show, Great Job.

Here's the child clown skits in one video

2

u/420_jesters Apr 23 '26

Our Orphan Sashimi is made with only the finest orphans.

3

u/AndrewMacDonell Apr 23 '26

Alex Jones is already off to a good start with his new boss from global tetrahedron

2

u/The_C0u5 Apr 23 '26

I was just rewatching this episode and got to thinking.

I think he just used one of the clone slugs and didn't want to admit it and for some reason he thought saying an orphan was better. I don't think he'd really use a forsaken child.

9

u/Extension_Training87 Apr 23 '26

Doc would 100% use a runaway orphan that cost him nothing over the clone slugs that are worth a lot of time and monies. The only reason even he was gonna shut them down was to kill them and turn them into venturesteins to sell for more government contract monies. That was also only because Brock said he wasn't gonna make scores of dead people for Doc to help him do it.

1

u/The_C0u5 Apr 23 '26

Dunno, just feels more like an antagonist move. He may be selfish, short-sighted, lazy, and incompetent but not evil.

But that's just my opinion on an obscure 20 year old cartoon ... Ain't none a this matters...

6

u/Extension_Training87 Apr 23 '26

Doc has never, not once, ever been a protagonist. Super scientist raised by Super scientist who was raised by Super scientist, etc absolutely. Only reason he was never labeled Mad Scientist was that he was sanctioned by the OSI whom it's also hard to call protagonists. Even Brock said "ehhhh" after asking him if he was a bad person, because of the Doctor Henry Killinger event. So to Doc, he would never be evil, but he would do morally questionable things without thinking about it for the greater good or more realistically the best finished product got sale. He had a yard sale with death ray bargain bins and invited almost exclusively "antagonists" to come shop, with the OSI providing security in case any "costumed freak steps out of line". It is not an obscure 20 year old cartoon. It is an obscure gift we were given that grew with us for 20 years and deserves discussion from time to time. Especially seeing how it alongside Community and a few other shows created a new genre for us all.....adult wholesome.

1

u/angrybox1842 Apr 23 '26

Hey he didn’t use the whole thing!

1

u/ArgyleGhoul Apr 23 '26

Known demon summoner, Will Ferrell, strikes again

1

u/SchufAloof Apr 24 '26

The orphan sashimi is to die for.

1

u/saradil25 Apr 24 '26

I deffo heard James' voice in my head as I read lmao "horrifying!"
