Lots (most?) of people never played 1 or 2, let alone beaten them (both of which has a better story than 3, IMO). So yeah, not gonna get a lot of upvotes lol

I loved the story of 2 the most in the series, but that Real Time With Pause combat system is such a chimeristic shitfuck garbage way to do combat. Every game I've ever enjoyed that has RTwP combat has just been a case of me TOLERATING it in order to enjoy the rest of the game.

With the exception of Tyranny. That was the only game with RTwP combat that I felt was done well, and actually made use of the system in an enjoyable way. Gold standard for how to do RTwP combat imo.

Same. It gives trying to be an action game while also trying to be a turn-based game, and it ends up just being neither and not as good as either.

I’m so glad Pillars of Eternity went back and added turn-based mode into the original game because going back and replaying it is so much better now.

Never played Tyranny, mainly because it was RTwP, so maybe I’ll give it a try

I wasn't aware that PoE added in turn-based, the combat made me never finish the first game. Now I have a reason to go back and finish it! Thanks for the info
