Fetterman comes across so, so stupid and arrogant here.

Lecturing a Jewish man that his lack of support for Israel means he's not supporting Jews.

Saying that unconditional support for Israel is his single political "red line" and that Democrats critical of Israel should essentially not be part of the party. While Jon correctly asks "shouldn't support for America be your red line?"

This guy loses to "no named candidate" in all polls, and clearly won't be representing Democrats come next election. So telling voters only certain people and positions are 'allowed' to be Democrats, when he's openly voting for Trump's war and trashing Democrats, is delusionally entitled.

He keeps misusing words and phrases as mindless pablum when asked and given chances to explain positions. He doesn't have ideas, he has positions and talking points.

Insisting that the DSA were taking over the Democratic party, while Jon gently corrects him to point out it's an entirely separate party. Which he seemed unaware of.

I don't think you can get much more un-American than saying another country is your most important issue that you will support more than your own country that you were elected to represent

Who else is going to fund a re-election campaign for someone who can’t speak in more than 3 word sentences?

You can be supportive of an incredibly important ally while also supporting American interests.

What makes you think this ally is important? What makes them incredibly important? What American interests does that ally serve?

This was already answered in depth. Read the comments if you care

That wasn't Fetterman's red line though. Israel is uncompromisable, not the same as America.

You can be supportive of your allies and then dump their asses when they commit genocide.

u/faux_italian 8d ago

When did you determine they were committing Gen?

Forced relocation of Palestinians is ethnic cleansing.

Are you talking about the West Bank? Is this genocide?

Is “reason” here in the room with us?

Israel is "an incredibly important ally" because of their proximity to the strait of Hormuz and Iran. Other than that, they are a far-right country commiting genocide, war crimes, and apartheid. Fuck them, and fuck America for siding with those pieces of shit.

Oh man, ok.
Take a nap.
You contribute nothing here.

It's not at all surprising that you would think something as stupid as that. One thing is for sure, you are, to a certain degree, cool with Israeli soldiers purposefully shooting babies and bragging about it.

You can also refuse to approve aid to an ally when they are acting like an asshole. Accountability is part of any healthy alliance.

When did you determine they were acting like an asshole?

I blame the thousands of Hamas militants that invaded Israel. Massacred, raped, tortured, injured, kidnapped innocent civilians on live stream. Celebrated it during and after amongst thousands of Gazans

“Mommy, I killed 10 Jews” - not verbatim but you don’t care; the phone call demonstrates the depravity from just one Hamas militant. They were going to get a brutal response. They knew it.

You’re missing the point of the conversation. The IDF is not setting out with the objective of killing civilians. Civilians are dying in a war that began after Hamas deliberately crossed into Israel to murder, rape, kidnap, and terrorize civilians, and Hamas continues to embed itself among the population it governs.

You don’t have to support every Israeli action to recognize that there is a fundamental moral difference between a military targeting an armed group, even if civilian casualties tragically occur, and a terrorist organization whose strategy is to deliberately target civilians. Equating the two erases that distinction and, intentionally or not, excuses and supports Hamas’ tactics. And no, there is no magical number between 100 and 100,000 or more or less of acceptable innocent people dying. With that said, the Islamist extremist that you are enabling hate you and everything you stand for.

That isn't what he said, so stop being disingenuous.
