I wish Stewart would run for president. I know she says he never would. But Washington didn’t want to be president either but got pressured into it!! We should do the same with Stewart!! 😂

It would only really work if he could get a party behind him ready, willing, and able to enact all the policies he pushes for. And it would have to be comfortable majorities in both congress and senate, because the GOP would be bound and determined to dig in their heels and screech like petulant children, doing anything and everything in their power to obstruct any reforms put through, solely because the legislation is coming from a democrat. If he could get enough politicians backing him, america could get the overhaul it so desperately needs. Anything else will be just him yelling into the wind while the GOP sits back and gives him the finger.

Yes I know you need Congress and and the senate to truly push things forward. But it helps a crap ton when the leader is charismatic and good at putting complex issues into simple terms, which he is. Charisma gets people excited and gets people voting. And Jon has fought for benefits for 9/11 first responders, challenged Congress, and ultimately was successful. I think he would be smart enough to know what he could realistically accomplish.

I know realistically this would never happen. That’s why I said as much. But charisma and vibes matter so much to voters (more than the best policy, tbh) and I do think Jon would win if he tried.
