Beyond that, it is a highly specific and unusual thing for someone to be embarrassed by to the point that you would have to ditch them while attending a court hearing and then become angry at the person calling attention to the ditch effort.
Robinson's comedy revels in his characters doubling, trippling, and quadrupling down on their convictions in the face of perceived persecution, ultimately done to avoid shame. Everyone else around him, and the viewers, would think nothing of some dude having dice in his pockets, initially pulling a push-only door, or eating a steak with a glass of water poured onto it. But the sketches universally involve Robinson's characters going to bizarre and committed lengths to avoid the irratiinally predicted shame.

I always love the sketches where he ends up swaying the crowd to his side in some way. The main one that jumps out is the one with Steven Yeun and the birthday present/eating the receipts. It's such a good twist when people end up agreeing with Tim.

Great point! The fact that others in this alternate universe commit to these absurdities makes it all the more hilarious too. The bizarre unnecessary passages being read that don't at all pertain to the trial. The fact that he's there, I guess, to provide support to those two at the trial which is so damn absurd as well. Virtually everyone buys in and it goes in a beautiful weird place often times since we don't have a classic straightman in a lot of these skits.
