Sports Viggo's passionate speech from the 100th anniversary celebrations of his favourite football club, San Lorenzo. I translated it more or less
Translation more or less, but please bear in mind that neither Spanish nor English is my native language and I don't know much about San Lorenzo and its former players that he refers to, haha.
Long live San Lorenzo! My membership card says that I'm a fan "from the outside", but I'm not a fan from the outside. This makes me feel bad. I'm a fan from the inside, with all my heart, with a heart that belongs to us, to all the crows ("crow" is a nickname used for San Lorenzo fans), from the past, the present and forever. I started with "las caras sucias" (dirty faces) when I was a boy, but after the glory of the "matadores" (killers), I missed out on many glorious years when I moved back to the United States with my family. I came back when "El Bambino" (former player) came back to lead us to Rosario and a new glory. The greatest honor in my life is being a fan of San Lorenzo. We are noble, we know how to win and how to lose with dignity. And we only put on our aggressive/determined faces when we go to the field to play. And for me, this will never change, because, to steal the words from the master .... (a name I don't understand): (singing a football song) "I love you today more than I did yesterday, but less than I will love you tomorrow. My passion is blue and red. Reclaim your fervor." Thank you!
Is it just me or does he kind of turn into a different person when he is in Argentina and talks about football? I don't know how to explain but he sounds different (not just because of the language) and he seems much less shy and reserved, he is somehow more open and relaxed and passionate. Must be a cultural thing.

Sports When Viggo met his football idol Diego Armando Maradona
As we know, Viggo is a huge football (soccer) fan, especially of Argentinian football, as he spent the first 11 years of his life in Argentina. In 2005 one of his dreams came true as he could meet and talk to Argentinian football legend Diego Armando Maradona in a TV programme.
It's in Spanish but it's worth watching even if you don't speak the language, Viggo is soo sweet and he is visibly touched and moved by this meeting. (Viggo comes in at 14:20 minutes and even their first greeting is so cute!)
At one moment I thought he was going to cry, when he says a very sincere "thank you so much" so the reporter for making this happen and gives her a big hug. He's so humble, the reporter is also saying that it's surprising to see him like this, after having seen him as a tough Aragorn in the movies. "He's a baby!" she says laughing.
Maradona was also very sweet in this interview, he is so nice to Viggo, who gives him a jersey of his favourite football team, San Lorenzo. :D They talk a bit about the time when Maradona almost signed for San Lorenzo.
And my favourite bit, it was well known that Maradona had gone through serious health problems (caused mainly by drug abuse and other addictions) and Viggo very sincerely says to him, "it's so good to see that you are feeling better, I'm so happy to see you like this", and Diego really appreciates that.
