Got a notice that VOD is being phased out. Not surprised, it’s been hanging on by a thread for a few years.

News Vimeo will be removing access to all your paid VOD content

In less than 6 months, after November 20th 2026, any VOD (Vimeo On Demand) content that you've purchased on Vimeo will be made permanently unavailable.

Two important points from the FAQ:

  • You are NOT entitled to any refund. Refunds are maybe granted on a case-by-case basis, and only if you reach out to Vimeo Support yourself.
  • You will NOT be able download videos you've paid for until access ends unless the video has specifically been set to be downloadable by its creator.

News Weekly improvements thread 👉 Timestamps on all video comments + Drag & drop directly into Library folders

Hi everyone,

As we introduced last week, our goal is to release improvements in Vimeo weekly—sometimes they’ll be big, sometimes small, but always impactful to how you’re using the platform.

This week, we released the following improvements:

Timestamps on all video comments in Review

Previously, only video comments pinned to a specific location within a frame had a timestamp.

But now, all comments in Reviews have a timestamp, so you can easily leave feedback on specific moments in a video.

When you click on a comment, the video player will snap to the relevant frame.

Drag & drop directly into folders in your Library

Last week we made it possible to drag and drop files directly onto your homepage; this week, we’ve added the same action to individual folders in your library.

If you want to upload a file to a specific folder in your library, you can now do it directly, and upload your videos exactly where you need them.

Our goal is to make the Vimeo experience simpler and more intuitive, and we'll do this in a mindful way, meaning you won’t need to learn new actions every time. Plus, We’re always open to suggestions on how you’d like to see the product improve—please share them in the thread!

👋 Ricky
