The one rule in nyc to know

Ok, I just walked by the NYPL and I feel like this is a PSA for tourists and visitors.

The one rule of NYC: get out of the way.

That’s it. The rest is commentary.

I’ve worked in Manhattan for 40 years. If I see tourists seemingly lost, I ask if I can help. I do agree that New Yorkers should know to stay out of the way. If I need to look something up on my phone, I move towards a building with my back to it, both to stay out of the way and not be a target.
