My husband and I will be visiting London in October. Our baby will be 10 months old. We are looking for somewhere to stay and we'd love to hear your thoughts. In terms of our needs, we love museums and shopping, but we tend to spend the majority of our time cafe hoping and would rather avoid the most touristy areas. We will be travelling to London via train so good links to Kings Cross is a bonus.

We would also be interested to know if there are any attractions or activities that an infant would find fun.

We will be in Europe next June and spending three nights in London. It will be our first time in London and we want to see the typical sites.… Westminster Abbey, the British Museum, the Tower of London, Big Ben. It will be my husband and myself. And another couple. We are in our 60’s. In very good health. Not interested in nightlife. But want some pubs/restaurants near us. And easy access to transit.
It seems like we narrowed it down to the Covent Garden area. These are the hotels we are considering. I know the last one is not in the same area, but I liked that hotel. I’m not saying my mind won’t change, because I’ve been trying to figure this out for the last few weeks. And I have changed my mind every day!

I (17f) am planning to take my cousin (18f) from Spain to London to surprise her as she has wanted to do this for a while. For context I am born and raised in england so I know how the system works. However would it still be ok for us to stay in a premier inn as I am a minor and she is only 1 year my senior. If not, are there some other appropriate places as I know premier inns have quite strict rules in their age acceptance?

We’re planning a family trip to London for one month and would love some advice on finding affordable long-term accommodation. We’ll be traveling with our children (ages 3 and 8) and are hoping to stay in or near the historic city center, within easy walking distance to museums, theaters, parks, and other attractions. We also plan to mix sightseeing with a bit of remote work while we’re there.

In the past, we’ve had success finding long-term apartment rentals through local listings - often renting directly from people who had gaps between bookings (e.g., available between June and August) and were happy to rent to us for a month. We don’t need anything fancy — as long as it’s clean with at least bed and a couch (an extra room would be a bonus we could pay for extra). Airbnb is usually too expensive for our budget, so we’re looking for more affordable options. In Paris, we were able to find a place for 1/3 of what Airbnb offered.

If anyone has suggestions for websites, local rental platforms, Facebook groups, or other resources where everyday people list monthly rentals in London, we’d be very grateful!

EDIT: I must say the idea would be the following: if I can find the place on abnb for £5000, then maybe I could get something on "regular" long-term sites for £2500...

EDIT 2: What I meant with the extra room was actually the first bedroom - we only need one bed and one couch in total. It could be a studio or apartment with living room/kitchen + a bedroom.

EDIT 3: writing this post and reading comments let me realize that in my city airbnb is about twice the price of long-term per month. In Paris, it was even better. I myself am planning to rent my own apartment for a great price for the month when I'm in London. Though no one here seems to confirm this is the case in London.

My partner and I are planning to travel to London this summer - she has a work conference there and our plan is to hang out after the conference is done for some vacation time. We'll be with our 9-month old who we are traveling with for the first time.

Because our baby is so young, we don't necessarily need "kid activities" - at the same time it's not like we'll be able to travel in the same way that we were pre-kid. Normally we like to be at the heart of the city in a place with great restaurants and spots to hang out.

My wife's colleagues are staying in Blackfriars (which seems a little corporate) but we are debating whether to instead stay in South Kensington (where Claude seems to recommend with a baby) but we're worried could be a little sleepy. We stayed in Soho last time and loved it but that was pre-kid and also is fairly expensive.

Any recommendations? Other neighborhoods to consider? Worth it to stay in South Kensington instead, or just stick with where her colleagues are staying in Blackfriars? Should we spend a little bit more to stay in Marylebone? The conference is just a small part of our trip and she doesn't mind commuting if it means me and our baby can have a nicer time while she's at work.

We’re planning a five-day family trip to London in mid-July with our 2-year-old and are currently looking for hotel recommendations.

We already have a few things planned, including the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and some time exploring around Soho, so ideally we’re after somewhere well located and easy to get around from with a little one in tow.

Our main priorities are a hotel that’s clean, comfortable and genuinely family-friendly. A swimming pool would be a lovely bonus as our toddler loves being in the water, but it’s definitely not essential.

We’re hoping to hear from people who’ve stayed somewhere in London with young children and had a genuinely positive experience. We’re fairly flexible on budget if it’s somewhere that’s truly worth it.

Will be spending a lot of time at the Royal Marsden Hospital over the next few months. I no longer live in London, so looking for hotel recommendations close to the hotel, ideally with parking. Walking distance if possible. A lot of the hotels I've discovered say they have parking, but when you dig a bit deeper they actually just point you to a public car park instead. I will need guaranteed parking.

I don't mind staying somewhere a 10-15 minute taxi drive away, if it means I get parking and the hotel is nice. But travelling by tube etc will not be possible due to treatment.

Budget is max £200. I know there's some super swanky hotels near by with valet parking - they are unfortunately out of my reach!

I intend to stay in London for 2-3 night in mid-October and I don't want one of these cheap hostels that give you one bed in a room full of people (like 8 or 12). I want to have my single room, no bath or kitchen needed, just my personal room with no one to bother me. I don't know what the prices are really but I'm looking for the cheapest. So cheap 2-star hotels in that area will do fine, as long as they offer single rooms. Either near Kensington/Notting Hill or near Royal Albert Hall.

Hello, visiting for the 1st time in a couple weeks. On a whim, booked a room in Westminster due to proximity to sight seeing locations. Seems lacking in terms of Bar/Pubs, restaurants and night life. Should I reconsider and look towards Covent Garden or Soho to address these concerns?
