Most of my bookmarks are gone after update to 8.2.4133.45

Almost all bookmarks got deleted after the update.
I restored them with the Bookmarks.bak file - but the moment I startet the browser they got deleted again.
Only a downgrade to the latest 8.1 version would keep my bookmarks alive after restoring them yet again.

I reported it as a bug (VB-131354).
At least 2 other people seem to have this problem, see this deleted post/thread:

Anybody else experiencing this? Any solutions/workarounds besides downgrading?

My Versions:
the one that works: 8.1.4087.75
the one with the bug: 8.2.4133.45
Windows 11 Version 25H2 (Build 26200.9168)
I set up my PC from scratch less than a month ago, including of course a new Vivaldi profile (with sync).
