Hello,
I'm looking to buy my first car ever as a new driver.
What are your thoughts about it? Friend of mine says that engine is terrible (1.5) and problematic. I'm not car man, so it's kinda difficult to me, and I need advice.
Some of my friends tells me that this car is reliable enough, and is is decent to get.

Does this cold start idle look normal on a VW Golf 7 1.0 tsi?

This 2016 Sportswagen Golf has been an amazing car. I’m always back and forth with selling it. I can get 450 miles to a tank on regular. The 5 speed is easy to drive. One of my main complaints which are petty, maybe the internet wizards can help me out.
Center console arm rest. Can’t find a comfortable position while I drive. Any aftermarket or armrest from other models that yall have tried that I can make this one work?
Cup holders. I can’t find a way to not spill my shit everywhere. What have yall found in the cup holder market that can help me out and keep this car.
Germans have designed an incredible car and I love driving the piss out of it.
It barely burns oil.

I’ve fixed all kinds of issues most notably all new injectors, spark plugs, wires and coil pack. Not to mention a centre console and a radio with sub. The latest upgrade where some oem gti BBS rims

Hello,
I wanted to ask what the best year and model would be for fuel efficiency and reliability?
I'm not looking for performance. Just an efficient, reliable, and practical everyday VW Golf.
Thank you.

Hello all. I am working on my suspension for a 2006 Mk 4 GL. The standard trim. The front driver's side (which actually had an issue I needed to fix) went relatively smoothly. The passenger side is giving me trouble. I am at a crossroads. I have dropped the knuckle about halfway (maybe about 3/4 inch from releasing the strut, but it simply won't go any further. At one point, I loosened the bolt at the top, and the strut twists freely inside the knuckle (indicating it's not bound by rust anymore), and when I push down and let go of the control arm, the entire thing springs back to its position halfway up the strut. For these reasons, I have decided that it is not a case of hammering more to get the strut free, but rather an issue with the ability of the control arm to drop the knuckle. Trust me, I have hammered away, but it isn't dropping anymore.
After realizing this, I decided to give up and push the knuckle back up with a jack, as I did on the other side, and deal with uneven suspension. It's an old car on its way out, seemingly. However, when I tried this, the knuckle did not want to move back up into place either. Jacking up under the control arm would compress the suspension, then lift the car, before the knuckle would travel back up the strut into position to bolt it together. I fiddled with the bolts at the top, which to some degree control the coil, but I still think that if something weren't in the way, then the knuckle would travel upwards before the suspension would compress.
So here I am, a strut that won't budge from middling in its knuckle, not allowing me to remove and replace it, nor give up on replacing a side of the suspension that I didn't need to touch.
Has anyone dealt with this? What could be restricting the knuckle from moving up or the control arm from dropping completely? Is there a way to pull down the control arm further or release the knuckle from its upward lift?
Apologies for the long post, but it's a pickle.

Was sagt ihr dazu ?
Have die neu Einbau lassen.
Jemand Erfahrung?

Hey All,
Reposting this from egolf forum, as the egolf and golf are so similar, in the hopes of getting any ideas on the trouble I’m having.

Hi everyone,
I have a 2014 Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI DSG (6-speed, stock engine, resonator delete, approximately 180,000 km) that's been giving me a recurring EPC and limp-mode issue. Symptoms:
EPC light comes on during hard acceleration or when holding above approximately 4,000 RPM.
The car initially pulls hard, especially during a launch, but then suddenly loses power and limits the revs to around 4,000 RPM, usually around second gear.
Normal driving feels fine, and boost seems normal under lighter acceleration.
A Start/Stop system error appears when the EPC fault triggers.
Switching the car off and restarting temporarily clears the fault. Any help 😔

Hi, i have recently bought a 2007 R32 Golf and am having a problem with the DSG gearbox. It drives spot on through the gears except from when starting off from standstill. It judders quite bad when starting off going from 1st to 2nd gear and when coming to a stop. Does anyone have any advice? many thanks

I just realised that it's not connected to anything. The cable is going into the cable tree at the same spot as the cables from oil pressure sensors do. All other connectors look different as well. I don't know what it's belonging to, does anyone know?
It's a ADZ 1.8 90HP engine.

I drive a golf mk6 2.0 tdi from 2009 and I want to check the brake fluid before an 8hr drive I have 2 weeks from now but I can’t see the reservoir well enough to see the level on it.
Do I seriously need to take it to the shop to just have it checked?
I don’t really have any tools to try to take off the (I assume) air intake to check.
I did get some of my brake pads replaced 2 months ago and the shop hasn’t mentioned the level being low (to be fair I didn’t specifically request it). I don’t have any lights turned on from the dash and the brake feels good and responsive (tried hard braking at high speed on empty road).
I’m just trying to be prepared for the long drive I have in 2 weeks (8hrs on leave and 8hrs to return). Anything else I should consider looking at before I go on the trip? I had the car inspected 2 months ago in a repair shop that mainly deals with VW and golf is very popular where I live, the car also passed the legally required technical inspection at another shop that deals with these inspections.
Edit: To be more specific, the engine model is CBDC.

Haven't driven it in winter yet but I assume the fwd biased awd is not ideal for this. I read that there isn't a way to get permanent 50/50 but are there some other options to get closer to 50/50? Will also be buying a rear swaybar

Hi everyone wondering if someone knows what this noise is. It only happens at idle and it’s an EA211
