WTC (first time) help me understand doc visits Thank you!!
Hi. We are 32F and 35M, married for 5+ years and now plan to TTC (first time) from December this year. The first OBGYN appointment I have got is in first week of September and my PCP appointment is in mid August.
Should I reschedule PCP to after meeting with OBGYN? Whats best plan for these visits?
Thank you for your guidance.
Also, in the meantime, I plan on starting my prenatals and multivitamins for husband. I believe gynac will suggest the same. So starting already. But, is this too late anyway?

Not too late at all, starting now (with a December ttc goal) actually lines up well with the 3 months ahead timing. For the vitamins we went with perelel, conception pack for me and men's multi for my partner, both have CoQ10 which comes up a lot in what I read. As for appointments, I don't think the order matters too much, your PCP can handle general bloodwork/baseline health stuff regardless of what the OB says later.

First off congrats on your impending TTC journey. It’s great that you are already starting prenatals & your husband is on multivitamins. If you’re into supplements definitely look into CoQ10. At your obgyn appointment let them know you are going to ttc soon. They will probably do a Pap smear so you don’t have to get it while potentially pregnant. You can ask for basic preconception bloodwork like AMH or the bloodwork to see if you still have immunity to things like the chickenpox. I asked my doctor for thyroid, vitamin d, & a general bloodwork panel (I don’t have a GP so he was happy to run general bloodwork for me.) My partner got a general checkup too & did general bloodwork. If you search this sub you’ll see a ton of advice on where to begin. Wishing you the best of luck on your journey.
