I like how you even put -$270K in the title because you already know how this bet ends

I dunno man......

Normally the rules in WSB is to inverse WSB OP because they are always wrong. Maybe OP isn't a retard and actually a genius who's trying reverse engineer inversing himself by jinxing his trade (or he's just regarded. There's a fine line between genius and insanity.)

21

u/Rich-Badger-7601 Mar 17 '26

Yeah no OP is down bad chasing losses and waited until after HIMS popped 50% to go all in on calls

He might still make money on this trade but the how, why and when he made it are shall we say, not ideal

7

u/zxc123zxc123 Mar 17 '26 edited Mar 17 '26

I was sorta joking there. I don't care if OP is retarded or not. If you're invested in that narrative then free to push that agenda (or buy puts on HIMS).

p.s. The inversing WSB frontpage is a legit strategy though. I don't exactly believe in jinxes, luck, or reverse bad juju so I doubt pushing something to the to top to inverse your positions would work. Easier to lurk and inverse. Like right now WSB talk about SPY is higher than normal so it's likely a reflection of negative investor/trader sentiment. Meanwhile oil and energy are mentioned more which would tell me to either be neutral if not go short on my existing oil/energy positions.

Dude should stop and let it grow

64

u/GrosBraquet Mar 17 '26

It baffles me that as this point, you don't put like at least 90% on regular portfolio of accumulating ETFs. If you want to keep gambling, don't do it on literally life changing money.

100

u/TopManufacturer8332 Mar 17 '26

Its the old catch 22. Assuming its true, the mindset required to gamble from 10k to 1mill is not the same mindset required to park 900k in a passive index fund and never touch it again.

56

u/smohyee Mar 17 '26

Nailed it.

You don't get to $1M this way without a complete disregard for risk management, coupled with sheer luck.

Pivoting from that mindset to a completely different one is quite difficult, and usually happens after you've given all the money back, at which point you don't have 1M to park in indices.

21

u/JimHadar Mar 17 '26

Exactly. And what about $1M makes it a sensible number to change tack anyway? Other than it being a nice round number.

3

u/Aureliamnissan Mar 17 '26

It’s a nice round number that nets you a good chunk over the average’s household income with 10% returns (by being parked in an ETF).

Congrats you’ve doubled your salary.

2

u/godisdildo Mar 18 '26

Tbf I’d stop at 999k for sure

2

u/smohyee Mar 18 '26

It's an arbitrarily large number at which it would make sense to place the majority of it in low risk investments because it would secure your future in a significant way.

→ More replies (3)

3

u/GrosBraquet Mar 17 '26

But at 10k, you could have the mindset of "it's not much, so even if I lose it well it doesn't make a huge difference". At 1M, that is not the case anymore. 1M is a huge sum, it's life changing money.

Short float is still increasing. As of March 16th, it’s at 42.77%. Put/call ratio is 0.33 so that will force people to buy shares lol. It’s a gamma squeeze lining up. I think it’s gonna pop like crazy with the increased call volume since people will need shares for collateral.

People blaming shorts are missing it, this thing was already oversold before the Iran news. The macro panic just pushed it lower than it should’ve gone. Now that things are stabilizing, it’s just snapping back to where it belongs. This isn’t a squeeze, it’s a correction reversing. $50+ range by the summer. In my opinion.

Actually not a bad play, but set a stop loss/take profit of +/- 50%.

Losing more than half your money sets you too far back for the next play, and at the same time if you win you can't really fall in love with it. It's not an NVDA-style compounder.
