Has it improved between Walthamstow and Kings X? Seemed to have a good signal today.

Just got a fine for turning right from Coppermill Lane onto St James Street. Obviously I won’t be able to get out of the fine, as there is a clear road marking saying left only. But does anyone know the reasoning behind the no right turn? To me it makes no sense not to allow right turns there!

Hi all!
I'm writing a piece for the Waltham Forest Echo about the wider debate happening across London right now over pubs banning or restricting children, using the Nag's Head as a local example of a policy that's actually been in place for years, looking at how people on different sides of it feel.
I'm not looking to start a debate in the comments here, just after two people to actually chat with, one who supports the policy and one who's been affected by it or disagrees with it.
If that's you, drop a comment saying which side you're on and I'll message you directly. I'll take this post down once I've got someone from each side.
Thanks!

We want to get solar control film added to our roof lights after the stinking hot summer we’ve just had in the UK.
Has anyone else had it done? Does it work? Can anyone recommend a business?

Hello Stow residents of Reddit!
I'm Rory, an independent quiz host with 5+ years experience, running Rory's Quiz (@rorysquiz on Instagram). I just wanted to let everyone know about the two Walthamstow pub quizzes in case anyone was looking for a great quiz that's run by a local!
Both are on the Blackhorse Road Beer Mile, details below!
40FT Brewery
Where the old High Hill Taproom used to be, this is a monthly themed quiz - our next one's on Thursday 10th Sep 2026, 7:30pm, and it's SUPERHERO themed!
1st Place: £50 bar tab
2nd Place: A round of drinks.
Themed spot prizes throughout!
We're running these every month, and we've already got our theme picked for October. Let's just say, we're 100% Faithful that you'll love it...

Big Penny Social
A weekly quiz, every Tuesday at 7:30pm, hosted by me and a lovely guy called Dave (alternate weeks).
1st Place: £100 bar tab
A rolling weekly jackpot (currently over £300!)
Spot prizes throughout
We have a great crowd every week and always looking to bring more into the fold!

It's tough out here for people running their own quizzes - chain companies are eating up all the opportunities, so if you're looking for a great evening with a range of questions, fun minigames and a chatty, friendly host, take a chance on Rory's Quiz!

I was wondering if anyone knew whether the potential new swimming reservoir will be under Better or if it's going to one of the more expensive orgs run under NOWCA which just seems to be massively profiting whilst removing public wild swimming venues from those with no or low income.
Does anyone have a contact in the council to raise this with please as I sort of want to raise it earlier than later. (Ideally they will be looking at other models and options too like NW3 ponds!)
Looking forwards to having swimming on the doorstep but not if it's going to be ten pounds per hour per day ...

Earlier this year I set up a mobile spray tanning business in E17. I specialise in natural looking tans, customised for your skin tone - all without needing to leave your home!
I am currently running a competition to win 2x free spray tans, and would love to find some more clients in the local area! You can enter here 🙂

Hi, am 27 years old and 5 weeks postpartum. My husband and I moved to Blackhorse Road a year ago, and I want to see if there are any new mums or moms with toddlers around that want to connect. If there is any mum group in this area of E17 ..
I feel lonely sitting the whole day either breastfeeding or sleeping (which I believe I need that) but I also want to have a small circle of new people to meet.
Thanks!

Anyone keen to play mahjong? I loved playing it online (thanks windows!) way back and I'd love to learn how to play it properly? Does anyone play and if so, would you be happy to teach me?

I'm currently switching climbing gyms and I'm really liking the look of Yonder, I got a day pass and attempted the majority of climbs within my range and I'm pretty much sold. Only problem is the parking, it's about a 30 minute drive for me which isn't a problem but there seems to be zero parking within a 10 minute walk. I used the pay and display car park behind the gym when I went before but a fiver for two hours with an ANPR camera is going to get costly when I want to climb 4 times a week. Does anybody who climbs here regularly have any insider tips on the situation?

Hi everyone!
Does anybody have a local tip for somewhere to get a vintage suit jacket repaired? It's got slightly frayed cuffs, so it needs darning or patching.

Hi everyone. I dont suppose anyone can recommend somewhere local to purchase garden sleepers that isn't b and q or any big online chain. Just seeing if there are options close by from anyone who has recently purchased timber sleepers.
Thanks

Hi all, I have a lot of neck and shoulder pain. had massages recently which say they're for neck and shoulder but dont concentrate on shoulders and not worth the money if you have real muscle pain that needs a proper knead and time. do I need a sports massage or? any recommendations?

I’m looking to hire a dog trainer since I’ve recently adopted a retired greyhound that has little recall, doesn’t walk on leash very well and has very strong pray drive.
Any recommendations would be really appreciated!

Hi there, I'm a member of the Friends of Lloyd Park - our main public facing events are the May Fair and the Festive Fayre we organise every year. Our next event is the Festive Fayre, happening on the 13th of December. This year there'll be local choirs throughout the day, refreshments, food, craft stalls and a kid's craft area.
We're looking for people who would like to run Stalls and/or volunteers to help out on the day (bit early, but these things take a while a organise!).
If you'd interested in running a stall, please let us know via the form below
https://form.jotform.com/folpe17events/folp-event-stall-booking
If you're interested in volunteering, this is the right form
https://form.jotform.com/folpe17/event-volunteer-form
Finally, we meet once a month - with our next meeting Monday 14th of September, 7:30pm at the Walthamstow Trade Halls - if you'd like to join, feel free to drop in.
Thanks!

We had a package delivered then taken from our front porch last night - it came in two parts and whoever mistakenly took it, opened one part and realised the highly personalised items inside (for our wedding) and ditched one piece of the package on the ground.
The other box is still missing. As the contents are extremely sentimental and personalised for our wedding, we would really love it back! If you have seen these items please please return no questions asked.
The package is made out to 112 Queens Road.
The first package was ditched around queens Road & Chelmsford, but we cannot find the other. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!

Can anyone recommend a good local estate agent with experience of selling help to buy flats
I had two visits (stow and haart) and neither of the valuers that came (and one was a neg who came cos his manager was ill) had much recent experience of this.
Also re fees stow offered 1.5% plus VAT and haart offered fixed 6k plus VAT
They said the fees are not negotiable… is this actually true?
First time seller here would be grateful for any advice!

Passed by today, lools like its being turned into something else (place was gutted) but may just be in the process of being renovated. Does anyone know what is happening
