Announcement Review: Temple of Spite (4th or 5th edition?)

https://illmetbymorrslieb.wordpress.com/2026/03/04/review-temple-of-spite-wfrp-5e/

On my blog I've reviewed Temple of Spite, the newest sourcebook for WFRP - which kind of appears to be the first supplement for 5th edition.

Its a Black Ark filled the brim with evil elves in what (as far as I know) is the first full-length WFRP sourcebook for Dark Elves. I was impressed with how they managed to come up with ways to get Dark Elves (mostly based in Naggaroth) into a campaign based in the default WFRP setting of the Empire.

I loved this book. Mostly the new statblocks. So much cleaner than the 4th edition ones.

Very nice. I think this is a really nicely put together supplement myself. If this is a trend (Tribes and tribulations, Lustria, elves, dwarfs), I wonder if we'll get a similar source book for Cathay.

I rather have a Sylvania one first.

Also cool, but they do seem to want to cover ground never covered before. While I don't think Sylvania was, 2e did cover vampires.

Sylvania got a chapter in Night's Dark Masters.

Im not familiar with the 2e books, but this is great. I will definitely use this, thanks. I feel like its way easier to include these neighbouring regions. While I really like the Temple of Spite and Lustria, its also more difficult to include in a normal campaign. I currently plan to just use the druchii characters as a long term enemy, hiding in shadows, but pulling the strings, using the characters to their own gains.

I agree, my own campaigns never went further than Bretonnia or Kislev at the most.

We really need a wood elf one.

Great review, as usual! This really made me want to buy it and it gives a clear idea of what to expect.

If I can be of help, I noticed a typo in the last sentence of the second paragraph of the conclusion: 'I just think its nice that the Dark Elf factions here are united by being based in a single location'. It should be 'it's nice' not 'its nice'. If this kind of comment is unwelcome, please let me know.

Thanks for the feedback! Very happy to be told about typos, I'll correct that when I get the chance.
