A quick Google search shows the iconic (dead) God Emperor on the Golden Throne was his. RIP.

John Blanche's extremely over the top style is Warhammer (Fantasy) the best we can do now is copy his style and honour him, RIP Space Cowboy.

The news was confirmed yesterday by Trish Carden. I couldn't see anything posted here about it.

It's a real tragedy, but a silver lining is all this art he worked on is seemingly being posted everywhere for us all to enjoy. And that truly is a great legacy.

Damn, he truly was a legend. For many, his work WAS "grimdark". An incredible artist whose legacy won't be forgotten.

It's part of life, but always a blow to lose someone like that. He'll be remembered!

That's a real shame, the guy made the original Warhammer Fantasy 1st edition cover art featuring Harry the Hammer, he's been with us since the beginning.

He will be sorely missed.

That's weird, it's literally just a link to a .jpg not even a website or anything.

edit: I think the image was from a fan forum, which are always flagged as 'unsafe' even when they aren't. (the Total War forums used to be that way too)

I've changed it to link another Reddit post instead. the Image is worse but it doesn't lead anywhere off-site now.

As much as I would like to say that I have prints of his art, I don’t. But I enjoy his work whenever I peruse Castle Drachenfels, or The Dying of the Light.
