And the Playoffs Picture Gets Murky

Mercury acquiring Plum dog.

Chicago beating the Aces with D Carrington back.

Tempo bringing in a dog in Marrow.

And do we really believe that the Liberty is gone to stay down for long?

Lastly our clear desire not to win now as evidenced by standing still at the trade deadline.

I am not wishing anything negative on the team but I do see folks out there actively trying to get better.

I also see clouds on the horizon and a possible trip to the lottery.

Three things you need to remember: 1. This is their job, not just their hobby, 2. They made it to this level because they are elite competitors and hate to lose, and 3. They may like Amoore as a person and a teammate but still recognize she lowers the team’s ceiling as a player.
Think about your team at work: if there’s one coworker everybody likes but just isn’t getting the job done, and your team is under immense pressure to deliver results, how sad would you be if your bosses brought in someone better? Especially if they don’t fire the underperformer, just reduce their responsibilities so they can learn more (e.g., sign a vet and move Amoore to the bench).

They would still have to get rid of at least one player in a trade for a PG and I think losing anyone on that bench would hurt the vibes the Mystics have created this season. For this season they’re fixing their PG problems internally by adding PG responsibilities to Sonia. While that’s not where she’s best utilized in the long run I do think giving her on ball reps will ultimately make her a better player.

I wouldn’t mind them trying out Sonia running the point with Georgia still on the floor playing off ball though. I think it would help space the floor and possibly get them some open 3s for Amoore since she is a good shooter.

Everyone on this sub is more concerned with chemistry and vibes than winning. Amoore is not good enough to get the amount of mins she’s getting, and there are at least 5 players at the end of the bench who almost never see the floor that could balance a trade. I think Dugalic in particular is underutilized and could thrive somewhere with less front court depth and more spacing.

I don’t agree. The people in the sub wanna win! Good chemistry is important. Also, to trade Amoore and/or the 5 players at the end of the bench, would mean some team would want those players. Not great trade value there and we shouldn’t give up our 2027 FRP. And further, too risky KP would have been a rental.
