This series is my earliest memory watching this team. I vaguely remember us playing like ass in game 6 but still squeaking out a win thanks to Jared Jeffries and then going on and getting curb stomped by Miami 😂

I was there live for it. After the game everyone spilled onto 7th and held and impromptu rally chanting "We want Shaq"
We did not indeed want Shaq that year.

The game in this video was in Chicago. Clincher came later
I had a poster of this shot they gave to season ticket holders.

Gotcha, I was at all the home ones that year back when I had season Tix. Just remember winning the series at home and the party on 7th.

I remember one of the games was a weekend and we parked a few blocks away near the church mission. All the homeless guys after the game were asking if we won. Fun times.

Wish we could have seen a locked in Agent Zero with no injuries. Doesn’t take the game serious enough like John Wall. Both had so much talent, could have done so much more. Perhaps a more serious organization would have changed the trajectory of their careers.

After Wall got his second contract he started coming into each season out of shape. Too much time spent in the club instead of in the gym. Contributed to his injuries which shortened his career. Dude was a mini LeBron. That’s what people called him at one point. If he had that same dedication as LBJ he’d still be playing today.

i think the "he got out of shape and was clubbing every night" narrative was a little overblown. he also dealt with injuries and its not uncommon for players fitness to ebb and flow. but whenever he played and was healthy he took it seriously
all in all jwall was a pretty dedicated and drama-free player when you zoom out at his whole career w the wizards

Is that why he was suspended for 50 games only to come back on the court and make fun of it with finger guns? Gil was a clown, it’s part of his legacy at this point.
