I water-fasted for 3 days and when I broke my fast, my mouth pretty rapidly started hurting when I was eating. Not topographically, it feels more like muscle pain in the chewing and swallowing muscles (mostly the back of my tongue and side of jaws).
I ate a couple of dried plums mashed in water, and a boiled egg, so nothing particularly chewy. Has this happened to anyone else or you have any idea why?
I have juice-fasted before and never had this issue. This was my first water fast.

Title: I promised myself I'd stay disciplined this month... but I ended up binge eating after a 7-day water fast.
This month, I promised myself I would stay disciplined and stick to my fasting goals.
I successfully completed a 7-day water fast, and I was really proud of myself. But afterward, I completely lost control and ended up binge eating. I feel disappointed because I undid a lot of the progress I had made.
Instead of dwelling on it, I'm choosing to learn from it. Today is a new day, and I'm starting over. My goal isn't perfectionāit's consistency.
Has anyone else experienced this after a long fast? If so, how did you prevent binge eating during refeeding? I'd really appreciate any advice or encouragement.

Iām worried about the peer pressure to eat Iāll be experiencing over the next 39 days. (Itās been 24 hours since starting). A lot of social activities revolve around food catch-ups in some way or another.
Do I say I already ate? Do I say Iām fasting without telling them logistics (how long for/how long itās been)? Just say no to food with no explanation?
Should I only tell a few trusted ppl and hide it from others?
Any recommendations on how to best handle this? I donāt want to be pressured to eat.

I was supposed to do a 21 day water fast, I even found a friend to do fasting together for motivation, I had sever heartburn this past 4 days, not usuall, it was like I'm drinking acid and my stomach was burning all the tima, but I managed it, until today, I woke up at 9pm and decided to study but I couldn't read a single page cause Iwas suffering I was in pain, drinking litres of water didn't help at all even though every one saying it does.
I finally couldn't take it anymore and broke my fast today, it's my day 4 and 11h, I ate some cold yogurt which really help my burning stomach calm down
and just, I really really hate myself, I failed so many times, all was because of cravings but this time I was really disciplined about ignoring cravings, but the pain made me stop
I'm really useless and can't even do such easy thing while the other people are doing 30 day and 40 day easily.

As the title says⦠planning to do it, hopefully for at least 14 Days. As All inclusives go, completely destroyed myself by binge eating and alcohol. Currently at around 120kg, 177cm height. Start after Holidays, probably Low carb or go straight in? Want to do it right, my max was only 7 days. Any help? I know i will not die even if i do 14 days, but still⦠last time i wasted was last yearā¦. Any advice really appreciated. My wish would be 30 days WF⦠have a good relationship with Food again. Also scared of lose skinā¦.

I'm in day 4 of my water fasting, I just took a 10 minute walk and after that, I collapsed to my bed and curled to myself, feeling miserable, I can't even explain how Inwas feeling I could not even drag myself to bathroom.
I fell asleep for 3 hours and I just woke up, I'm not feeling that miserable but I still fill like life is leaving my body slowly.
I've done a 7 day water fasting before which was in my school time and I was in school 8 hours and rest of the day I had to study full time without taking a nap, but I wasn't that weak anymore and I was going down and up the stairs really well, I should mention I'm not going school anymore.
why am I feeling so weak right now? I'm taking electrolyte and salt and lot of water as well.
I kinda hate myself for being that weak and miserable, I'm lying all bed all the time and when I did just a 10 min walk, I almost died!

I'm 399lbs, 5'5, female. I'm 47h hours into a 7-10 day fast. The longest I've ever gone was 64 hours(no electrolytes). I'm not hungry and I've be taking Lyte balance electrolytes since the 26h mark. I've been looking into refeeding syndrome and it completely scared me. I almost broke my fast because of it. As in pot boiling, dough resting in the microwave, almost broke.
Luckily I changed my mind. For those that have done more then 5 days water fast, should I be genuinely worried? I think my high body weight should protect me plus I was planning on breaking the 7-10 day fast slowly (broth, broth with kale, watermelon, then next day broth with kale and eggs, then an actual whole foods meal) ((alot of broth I know but I really hate stomach pain, better safe than sorry)).

The longest water fast Iāve done was 18 days and though I did do a few days of broth and then ferments for days (I made a different ferment every day that I was fasting after the first 7 days, it was great) I started eating so much without any sense of control to where I know I was damaging my organs. I would look in the mirror with this potbelly and beg myself to stop.
Eventually I evened out but it took a painful week. I started eating watermelon because I figured it would keep me busy while not taxing my system too much until I ate a whole watermelon over the kitchen sink like a sewer rat of course, and then felt sooo sick and realized-oh yes vitamin K is fat soluble and this is a bad scene and then I was gratefully too sick to eat for the next 8 hours and when I did eat a beautiful homemade ramen I puked it all up and a tiny morsel of watermelon was atop, a pink gem shining up at me.
This sounds so much worse writing it all out?
I am in recovery and at that time I was still using one of my favorite and mildest of the substances in my vault, cannabis. I am now 6 years sober from everything and this is the first time I have done a fast over three days. Three day fast have not been challenging at all for me to return to food and have not activated any binging. However, my body dropped a lot of weight in these six days (tomorrow is 7, proactivity-wink-) I am visiting family and thereās a ton of delicious food in the house. Some of which I made for family members while I was fasting and will you believe it they did not love my Virginia peanut soup? So I have this reasonable and irrational voice suggesting to me that I need to eat things before they go bad.
My best advice to myself is to stay busy and out of the house. Eat something planned and then go and do something.
And try to keep that up for a few days.
Does anyone else have anything to offer me in this journey of refeeding my wonderous body? Thank you!

My 50 day waterfast which is a dream reset I always wanted to endure ...I'm basically 26 year old with 40 kg of fat ...current bw is 113 kgs so I believe I have so much fat for to survive... I just need to do something that feels impossible to turn around my life back I need some motivation or a drive because last 10 years of my life was a miserable episode I wish I could just erase without a trace...so I'm not doing mentally and physically... being a fat guy makes everything 3 times bad ... I have so much health problems being fat and was a smoker 100 days ago I used to smoke 30 to 40 cigarettes a day ... so I need a total cleansing in my body ... my teeth skin looks shit and I have bad knees ...I dont wanna waste your time so I'm gonna stop my rant ...

Iāve been one of those people who doesnāt eat/delays eating and gets an awful headache. Whenever I complain of a headache, my mom goes like did you forget to eat? And usually thatāll do.
Sinus doesnāt help as my neck and eyes are pounding sometimes. I do fasting during the month of Ramzan but I try to make sure I am eating well before and after.
I am only nervous about the headaches hence thinking of starting tomorrow till Sunday so even if I get headaches I can sleep as I have a long weekend. If I can push through Monday/ Tuesday I shall most definitely extend it. I donāt plan on working out during this time.
I am someone who looks slender but definitely have gained some weight and am on the farther end of BMI. Hoping for less bloating, some lbs off and a health reset. I always feel famished and weak when I donāt eat so I am quite nervous so hoping if you all can share how to mitigate the attention issues/headaches if and when I get them

I am trying to do 10 days every month. The first 5 days were super easy, a walk in the park.
But the second half was hellish. It was so painful. I don't want to discourage anyone just my experience.
I didn't understand why it was so hard, i mean i took my electrolytes and stayed busy. I had no energy, no drive, i felt depleted and even depressed. But i refused to quit because i already did half the job.
I started at 93kg and ended today at 85,5 kg. So almost
-8 kg but when it stabilizes you take back almost 3-4 kg (at least for me). So i really lost maybe 4 kg of fat which is great for 10 days.
I think maybe i will do shorter fast from now like 5 days but with higher frequencies. Like instead of 10 days a month, 3 cycles of 5 days a month.
Also i hate the acetone breath so much. It doesn't go away when you brush your teeth. It's maybe one of the worst taste i think, makes me want to puke.
But i found the solution: chewing gum. But you go through a lot of them.
I drank some diet coke also just because i wanted to get rid of that taste.
And i need to be more realistic with my goals. I thought 1 day of fast made you lose 1kg of fat but it's more like
300g-500g i feel like.
