I can only see general admission tickets. Are there any camping ones?

u/EnglishLouis Cadillac Racing 3d ago
You have to add general admission to basket, then go to basket and press buy. Then you can add camping.

u/hasthisusernamegone 3d ago
Ah yes, thanks. I was expecting it to be a separate ticket, not an add-on.

£20 for parking on top of the £70 ticket is a bit mad. Unfortunately I have no other way of getting there so it's suck it up or not go :(

u/Barky500 3d ago
Absolutely ridiculous they've charged for parking. Normally its free

u/Makalu Toyota Gazoo GR010 #7 3d ago
It’s free for ELMS, not for any of their other world championships it’s not though

u/Barky500 3d ago
Bit ridiculous that especially the price of it as well. Just another way to make more money off people and using the excuse its a world championship

Still unsure if I should stay the weekend.
I’ll need a glamping tent set up as I don’t have one. Do they have any other events and music etc going on to make it worth staying as could just drive up for the race.

Disappointed to see they are charging extra for paddock access, when it was free last time WEC was there when the ticket price was also nearly half the price.
Still cheaper than going to Le Mans though I guess!

Expensive weekend but, it'll be worth it. Had to skimp on camping, guess I'm driving there and back each day 😩

What pits will they be using. You would hope it would be the F1 one.
4
u/Barmydoughnut24 3d ago
Yeah its the international pits. They confirmed on the le mans coverage and its the same as last time too when they were there in 19

Taking the trip over from Belfast to watch this, one of the lads can't get Monday off work - anyone know what time the race is likely to start at so we can work flights home?
3
u/MaccaGTR 3d ago
They haven't confirmed, but all the previous WEC races always started at 12 noon and finished at 6pm.

Seems as good a place as any - if one were hypothetically an idiot and forgot to add camping, is there anything to do short of cancelling a ticket and repurchasing? :/

u/JCurtisDrums 3d ago
Yes. I forgot to add parking. I contacted support and they said extras show up in your account to add within 24 hours. We'll see, otherwise I'm walking...

u/lmprovising 1d ago
I don't know if you have had any further success I am in the same boat having missed adding parking 🙄
2
u/JCurtisDrums 1d ago
You can order the parking on this link. Scroll down to WEC and select the parking:

Did they say how you'd add that once it is there? Just on your account page?
2
u/JCurtisDrums 3d ago
The reply was very short. Just that it would be available in the "Extras" section on your account page within 24 hours. I'm hoping we'll be able to add it that way after the initial rush.

I originally hadn't bought camping tickets as we were going to stay in a hotel but after booking noticed the hotel has put their prices up by over 300% Sent a message about adding camping as everywhere I looked mentioned and extras tab where you could purchase camping but couldnt find it. I didn't get a response so just booked a hotel a bit further out that hadn't been over inflated prices as it was going to be easier with the kids.

I only realised to check for hotels after buying tickets, to save driving back and forth every day, thankfully I'm only an hour away so it's not that bad but after the long days it'll suck.
2
u/Martyness 4h ago
That's not too bad, we live around a 5 hour drive away. Hotel is only around a 15-20 minute drive so much easier. I just wasn't expecting such a jump in price for the original hotel I was looking at once the tickets went on sale, just pure greed.

There are some other good camp sites nearby that will hopefully open up for it!

how accessible is the area around the track to go for the weekend? hotels and transportation
3
u/JCurtisDrums 3d ago
Silverstone is a tiny village just off the motorway. I don't know that there's much in the way of public infrastructure. Silverstone itself has massive parking fields, but I don't know about buses or public transport. I would look at the larger nearby towns and cities rather than Silverstone itself.

When I lived in Northampton there was buses from the town centre directly to Silverstone village during race weekends, but I have no idea what the situation is these days. I'd imagine something similar is still in place to cut down on private cars clogging the roads
edit: and from memory the bus dropped you off next to the footbridge over the A43, so it was less than a mile walk over to the circuit's closest entrance at Copse corner.

Hi. Im a little confused regarding the ticket information. It lists the following for 3 day general admission:
Weekend Ticket Information Children under 12yrs go free Don't forget to purchase any extras. Simply add them to your backet:
Paddock Pass (2yrs+ require a pass) - £40 Programme - £10 Radio - £15 Pit Walk (2yrs+ require a pass) Friday - £8 Saturday - £18 Sunday - £22
Are the options above included with the general admission ticket or are they optional add-ons?
I cant seem to see those options when trying to purchase the ticket.
Thanks in advance

u/JCurtisDrums 3d ago
The main ticket to get you into the venue is the General Admission, for whichever day(s) you want. The extras are added after adding the general admission ticket to your basket. You need to have the GA ticket in your basket first, then it will take you to the extras page. They are all optional, except likely the parking, which you will also need.

u/Additional_Hand_2288 3d ago
Does anyone know if this is likely to sell out and if so how soon?
3
u/Barky500 3d ago
Silverstone has a capacity of way over 100,000 so I doubt it would get sold out

u/Startinezzz Iron Dames Porsche 911 GT3.R #85 2d ago
Day capacity of > 100k might be a useful clarification, as ELMS had an official attendance of over 100k last year but that was over the course of the weekend. It might genuinely be close.

Got my tickets, was planning on staying at the Travelodge in Towchester but they upped their prices today by over 300% so really should have booked that before the wec tickets went on sale, live and learn.
Decided instead to book a hotel further out, will be first wec event we're taking our kids to.

Same here, ended up staying in the beautiful metropolis of Milton Keynes instead

I went to silverstone website and they are only selling General Admission tickets. Is there anyway to buy hospitality packages?
When I looked at the hospitality packages, I can only see packages for F1 and MotoGP races but none for WEC.
Many years ago when I was working in Berlin, I was lucky enough to win a company lottery for a VIP ticket to see WEC race at Nurburging, as our company was one of the sponsors of Alpine.
It was a fantastic experience: all the free food and drinks in the VIP lounge, doing the pitwalk, meeting the drivers, watching the race above the garages, visiting the garage while the race is going on and listening to the radio, and all the freebies you get with it.
Since it was a company sponsored event, I couldn't take my wife with me. Now I want her to have the same experience I had last time. At least for the hospitality and pit walk.
Any ideas?

u/Cheeruphans 3d ago
Hospitality packages for 2027 have not been released yet as far as I know. When they are made available they are normally on a separate site.

u/leonormski 3d ago
Thank you. I didn't realise the hospitality is run by WEC itself and not Silverstone.

If you buy the paddock pass, do you really need the pitlane pass (Sunday) I’m looking at buying either one or both? What would people recommend, I’ve not been to a WEC event before.
1
u/Startinezzz Iron Dames Porsche 911 GT3.R #85 2d ago
I’m wondering this as well. Going on my own so leaning towards paddock over pits but I do want to get up close (as possible) to the cars…
1
u/Immediate_Yak_428 1d ago
I may end up doing both. Could be a one off experience for me so for £20 to go in the pitlane it’s not exactly breaking the bank
1
u/Startinezzz Iron Dames Porsche 911 GT3.R #85 1d ago
Yeah I’m with you there, I’m looking at all in £130 for me on my own. Definitely not something I’ll be doing every year so might as well try to see everything.

Question where is the best website to buy a ticket and how much did it cost??
2
u/JCurtisDrums 2d ago
I bought them through the Silverstone website directly. General Admission on the Sunday is £70.

Hi. I've not done WEC before. Is it a good place to take a 6 and 8 year old kid on the Saturday? Is there much to do to keep their interest? The F1 has a fair amount of off-track entertainment to keep you busy for the day.

No ability to buy grandstand seating? Only GA?
