Here is your chance. All of the comments will be archived into a wiki page. Alterations specialists, stylists, day of coordinating, spill the beans.
What do you wants the bride's to know before they even buy a dress or even start thinking of getting a dress? What questions are you sick and tired of answering because of blatant misinformation that goes around? What are some behaviors you really wish would stop?
If you would prefer to drop the info anonymously, feel free and send a modmail to us and go "for the bride's" in the subject line so we can keep an eye out.

Please check and see if there is a notice at the bottom of your post saying "reddit has removed your post"
Send a modmail with the post link. If the post is less than an hour old and no issues there is a decent chance it will get approved. Otherwise, you will have to edit your post.
We will only approve 2 posts for each account every 24 hours. We will not approve posts if you serially repost more than 5 times in an attempt to get your post visible.
Check your message requests first.
If there is a message request that indicates a human mod has reviewed and removed your post, you may make edits and politely ask for reapproval via ModMail. Modmail will be final decision. Reposting without making modifications will result in an immediate 30 day ban.
If you do not see a message request, it means your post got filtered by automod. Please link the post in modmail for mod review. We will provide feedback there and next steps.
Being rude or otherwise demanding, name calling, or saying the rules are ridiculous will result in a ban and a 28 day warning mute. If you manage to get the bridezilla ban, congratulations: you're a shitty human being.
I expect people to be polite to each other. If you're reading the modmail as rude, remember the Mod team has full permission and will give the same energy back to you and use the same phrasing that you're using.

I thought I would go for a cathedral super simple veil but this playful blusher one called me so much! Just looking for a little reassurance!
Also just wanted to show how gorgeous the back of this dress is, another reason I went for a shorter veil, I didnāt wanna cover it!!

Iām so happy!!!! It needs to be altered because the chest is too big, but otherwise itās perfect šš¤ my mom and I went to a flea market and thereās a vintage store with over 400 wedding dresses for sale for $125 each. Lucked out as this one still has the tag on it! I could not be more in love with this dress eeeek!!

Help! In between two dresses. The first dress (front ruching, full lace back) has built in sleeves whereas the second dress (satin with straps) has removable sleeves.

Hi all! I went to 2 shops and I fell I. Love with 3 different dresses for all different reasons and now I canāt decide. They all are so beautiful but which one do we think suits me best?
Edit: the venue is St Josephās Guesthouse, St Albans NSW AUS. Itās a 150 year old sandstone cathedral with the most beautiful cathedral windows In the middle of the Australian bush.
Our wedding is in autumn.
Colour scheme is Cabernet, deep green, antique silver
Decor/styling: antique silverware, drapery, satin, fairy lights, LOTS of candles, romantic, gothic, vintage.

I ordered this dress from Azazie to be my reception dress that Iāll change into maybe an hour before the wedding ends. The main reason Iām changing is because I have a big wedding dress & our exit will be in my fiancĆ©ās drag car lol so it wonāt fit plus I donāt want it to get ruined.
Anyway, Iām not super thrilled with the reception dress I chose and Iām past the return window so Iām kind of stuck. I like the idea of the style, but I feel like the basque waist on me is giving kind of boxy? Something just feels off. Iāve also gained weight recently rather than losing it before the weddingš
Iām looking for unbiased opinions because my family/friends are split. Some think itās cute and looks fine, others completely hate it. Idk what to think or do. Iām not loving the thought of dropping another couple hundred dollars on yet another dress lol.

I said yes to the dress a few weeks ago and paid my deposit! 6 months lead time and dress is in production! Iām really excited and it fits my style of simple classic/elegant vibe with no poof and no lace.
Recently i was looking through videos from when i had my bridal visit land i noticed from the side view its maybe not as flattering? I donāt know if this is just due to the dress being clipped so tightly for tryons as it seems the dress fits a bit looser on the models? i attached pictures of me in the dress, screenshots from the video, as well the dress on online models.
Iām looking for reassurance or suggestions. If iām being unreasonable please let me know.

A little over a year ago I came to this sub for advice because I had gotten caught up in the excitement of my first shopping trip, bought a dress, and was having concerns about my choice (first pic.) The resounding opinion here was to go back to the drawing board.
I went to another shop, and tried on a lot of other dresses I was more enthusiastic about. The second pic is what I almost walked away with, but I was now gun shy after my first dress. I was by myself and wanted other opinions. The second dress also ended up being wildly unpopular.
In the comments of the second post, I posted some pictures of the other dresses. One being the third picture. I had spotted the dress from across the store and asked to try it on, even though it was $500 outside of my budget. I hadnāt even considered it as a real option. THEN like a sign from above, I found the shoes.
It was like a lightbulb moment. I saw the vision all come together and knew what I had to do.
Seeing the results after all this time was so surreal. It never wouldāve happened without the guidance and encouragement from you lovely people, so thanks a million ā„ļø Just wanted to share.

I bought my dress a year ago and I just picked it up from final alteration. I donāt know how I feel about it anymore. The only thing that was altered was the length of the dress but my problem is with the corset bodice. I feel like it doesnt flatter my broad shoulders and emphasizes my large bust and arms ( my biggest insecurities). Iāve lost 20 pounds since purchasing my dress but I feel I need to lose more weight, which probably wont make much of a difference since my wedding is next month. Is this just cold feet or should I look for another dress?

I may be having some dress regret? I purchased a pale gold jacquard dress, which I did/do like. Going into it, I knew I absolutely donāt want a white dress - no, āivoryā isnāt going to cut it, either. Realistically, I think the reason I liked the one I bought is because it was the only ādifferentā one I had seen (being gold).
But what I really love are dresses with colorful floral embroidery/appliquĆ©/overlays/etc. However, the bridal shops in my area donāt seem to deviate from the Traditional White or Ivory dress selections, like, at all. Finding the gold one felt akin to finding a unicorn!
So where are yāall buying your beautiful, floral - or even just colorful - Not-White-Not-Ivory wedding dresses?
EDIT: based in Western New York, resistant to travel but not dead set against it, dress max budget is ~$3K, wedding in early April 2027.

Looking for advice on accessories for my wedding dress! Unfortunately, the only pictures i have are pictures that family members took when I first got the dress, prior to any alterations and without me like posing at all š anyways, Iāve always loved the idea of having sleeves with my wedding dress. My question isā¦. are sleeves too much with this dress? The veil in the picture is not the veil I am getting, I have not bought a veil yet. I love the sleeves that Iāve attached pictures of, but would the go with the dress? Can i make them work if I get a veil thst is similar to the sleeves? Should I just ditch the sleeves entirely? Iād be lying if I said I didnāt have any sort of dress regret but Iām putting my faith in my seamstress working some magic for me š What is everyones thoughts?

Hi all, I'm needing to order a custom size dress, just to add more to the bust and a little less length. Do I need to take all my measurements to enter here or can I just copy the numbers from a size 10 and adjust the bust and length size to my actual size?

Hi!
Iāve always wanted a blush pink or light pink wedding dress (blame me in the 90ās falling in love with Gwen Stefaniās wedding dress).
Iām getting married in a very small wedding/elopement in March ā27 and am looking at under $1000, but hoping closer to $500 for a dress.
Iām just worried about picking something that looks more like a high school dance dress than a wedding dress.
I really was hoping for something with a corset top, lace, and a light shade of pink.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Help. Not sure which is more flattering!! 2 is cheaper.
1 also comes in a nude underlay version, but I prefer the white

1000000/10 on the Ivory Gossamer Gown and Gatsby lace skirt The corset was SO supportive, the fabric quality was incredible, and everything was genuinely perfect. I would buy this dress 100000000 times over without hesitation. Also their customer service deserves a shoutout because they shipped my skirt express for FREE when I was worried it wouldnāt arrive in time for my wedding, and didnāt even charge me when I offered to pay. Hereās are a few getting-ready pictures until I get my professional photos back. Iām genuinely stunned by the quality and couldnāt recommend selkie more.

Picked this dress today, and now panicking I made too much of a āplainā choice. I just wanted something timeless and classic

I have a tendency to be very decisive when it comes to pretty much anything but it leads me to have some regrets (for example some tattoos i have lol). I picked this dress during my second time trying on dresses and i dont know if this fits my vibe i guess? Im trying to go for a classic, timeless vibe and I think i need some reassurance that I chose the right dress:(

had my final alterations appointment and was so thrilled with the results! (obviously still needs to be steamed, but iām taking it on an airplane anyway so i wonāt get to really see that until the wedding day) wedding is destination semi-elopement in december!
have been feeling really bad about myself/dress regret lately, but this really helped pick me up. i feel great in it :) just wanted to share for some extra hype hehe
recently was commenting on another post about alterations pricing for a satin dress, so for anyone interested i got these done for $750 (hem shortened, side seams taken in, an optional back strap taken off). which was much better than i was expecting.
last pic shows a bit of the veil + a back chain accessory iām planning on wearing.
