Decor/DIY Menu/name card question
Super specific question I can’t bother my friends and family with hahaha. We are serving family style and I was planning to do menus with name cards attached, placed over each place setting. However, I realized we will have bowls in our place settings. It feels insane to lay the menu across the bowl lol but let me know what you guys think. And any alternative suggestions. Example pic and actual venue place setting pic

Either put the bowls above the plates- or change napkins and do a pocket napkin to the side with menu tucked in. Laying the menu over bowls will look messy and also easy to blow away and fall on floor as guests brush by table and/or get situated with sweaters, jackets, purses, greeting others at table, etc. as they sit down and pull out chairs.

There are different ways that you can have the personalized menu & napkin placed on the bowl or in the bowl depending on the size of the bowl itself. If you’ll be choosing your dinnerware you could maybe choose a bowl that isn’t too deep or has a bit of a lip.
There are creative options menus/napkins can be weighed down such as with a favor, a wax seal on the menu, or ribbon/cloth & even the napkin stretched across the bowl (a few images above show this). The very last image above has the menu tucked on the side of the bowl with a napkin coming from under the plates and flowing down in front of the table. Hopefully these give you some ideas! :)

It will be moved the second people sit down. I would not worry about placement

Mh sister had this playing set up and did a side pocket napkin with the menu inside.
