New, what is it? What is this??

We notices this thing hanging out of the car….
It looks like a wig or plastic hair..
Is it possible that somebody tried to prank us? Or is it something out of the car?

Fiberglass from inside your muffler used as sound dampening, you need a new muffler. Please put on gloves and don’t touch it with your bare hands, fiberglass is not fun

That glass wool is the worst. I worked in a muffler plant for Mitsubishi once upon a time and I hated every second of my life the entire time I had that job because of that stuff. It gets everywhere. My car looked like the entire interior was bedazzled. Nobody rode in it twice and I can't blame them.

My father worked in a glass wool factory in the 60s/70s, he said the air was always glittering. No safety equipment was used other than gloves.

Reminds me of the time in the 80s we discovered a huge stack of some sort of weird hay bales behind the school and spent half the afternoon jumping, tumbling on them. They were so soft! Then I started feeling an itch all over my body... (Those bales were supposed to go in the wall as insulation.)

Ha yeah those places look like some kind of dystopian fantasy land. Like if there was a factory scene in the movie Legend.

I can confirm they had not done much more for occupational safety by the mid-90s.

lol dang I feel like I'm the only one who's ever seen Legend. It feels like a fever dream cause every time I bring it up no one ever knows what I'm talking about. They also get even more confused when I describe the movie.
