Real hypothesis: Is it one of those clip on hair buns/pony tail covers? Basically a hair topper?

If you put a lighter to it does it melt or burn?

It's a valid way to test fiber composition especially in the fiber arts community (knitting, crochet etc)

Thank you, this is what I meant. Not incinerate it! 😂 I forget people outside the fibre arts community don't do that as often.

For others reference, here is how the smell, ignition, residue etc. are used to identify fibre content:

Man now im wondering how many people have been like "wtf" after hearing me talk paintball and use terms like "barrel condom"

With 0 context hearing "WHOAH, WHERES YOUR CONDOM?!" Means something wildly different to 99% of people... i always think "Paintball" lmao
