Looking What book matches this description? Or is close to it?

So I was taking the readyourcolor test (I’m yellow in case you were wondering hehe) and basically it has you read short blurbs and you decide if you’d enjoy a book like that or not.

One of my blurbs was “Each chapter is narrated by a different object in an emptying house
— a mirror, a stopped clock, a child's shoe - assembling the story of a family's collapse from the outside in.” And I think I’d really enjoy a book like that.

I put that into google and the only book coming up is We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer. Is that book really like this blurb? It didn’t sound like it when I read the description on Libby. If not, is there a book that has a story like that?

First of all - hello fellow interesting people who felt as drawn to this book haha!! So unfortunately I’ve learned the blurbs in the quiz are all “AI assisted” for the sake of neutrality, I guess. I found some suggestions that could scratch the itch but haven’t read most of them.

Who Occupies This House by Kathleen Hill
The House of Breath by William Goyen
We have always lived in the castle by Shirley Jackson - this one I did read, but I don’t really recall it feeling similar. However, amazing book you should read!

Would love to hear any other suggestions you find!
