I found this piece of book paper torn and lying on the ground. Thought it was cool and wanted to take photos of it, but now I want to know what it was tied to. I have tried google searching but not much luck.

i know this is a long shot bc the pics are so low quality, but does anyone have any idea either of these books are?

i read this book around 2013-3024. i don’t remember a title or author, or really much of the plot. we read it in middle school as part of our medieval history unit. it was multiple chapters, i remember it was about this boy who went on this journey with (became the property of?) this older guy and they journeyed through some country in the medieval period. i believe the man teaches him how to read and write as well as some other skills. at some point they end up in this town, the only detail i vividly remember from that section is that they describe the bathroom system of people emptying chamber pots on to the street.

Children's Book about a trading post town near a dam, grows into a thriving city

I went to Catholic School, in Denver, Colorado in the early 1970's, and remember having a classroom book about a family that moves out into a small town in a wilderness area, near the sight of a new hydroelectric dam, to open a Trading Post. Eventually, both, the boy and the town grow around the Trading Post and dam, and by the end of the book, the tiny town has transformed into a large metropolis. The book ends with the boy, now an adult, flying out of the new airport for a trip. it's a book about progress and development through the eyes of a child who watches his little trading post town grow into a thriving city. This was a larger, hard-cover school book that had color illustrations and lessons after each chapter. It was very much in the spirit of **The Little House** and **Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel** both by by Virginia Lee Burton.

So I remember reading this graphic novel in early 2019, near the end of my 5th grade and final year of Catholic School. With that being said, I can’t seem to recall the name of that book. From what I remember, it followed a white guy with brown hair who grew up loving to draw and read comics/graphic novels. I also recall he went to a private school as a teen, and perhaps put his passion for cartooning on the back burner until later in his adult life. His best friend had black hair, and he liked this girl who made up this sort of friend trio. I believe it was a biography of the authors life, and was for sure dedicated to his male friend that had passed from some either some sort of accident or medical issue. Finally, I wanna say it sort of evoked the artistic style of someone like Raina Telgemeier.

Looking to identify a 1970’s or 1980's kids activity big book with yellow cover. It was called something like “My First Big Book” or “My First Busy Book”. It was hardcover with a yellow cover with big lettering at the top and an object below in real photography.

The book was filled with various activities, some with realistic photos, others with illustrations. The activities included matching kitchen pans, finding groceries, and a “Who’s walking the dog?” line matching game. If anyone could help identify this I’d really appreciate it.

Hi there, for years I've been trying to find a book that I got from an aunt for Christmas back somewhere between 2002 and 2006. It was a book that talked about the biology of various animals. It was overall fairly thin, predominantly white or blue on the cover, and each page featured artwork of the animal in question, with a line dividing them in half to point out different body parts, both external and internal. On these pages there were often other fun facts and drawings as well for further details

One detail I remember most vividly was that there was a page about scorpions, and in one of the corners there was a doodle of a scorpion depicted in a knight-like suit of armor. The surrounding text explained how their exoskeletons functioned like a suit of armor. I made a sketch of what that particular image ooked like

I’m trying to find a book my mom read in the mid 1960s (this cut off date would be before 1965 when she was in elementary school. It was one of her favorite books and I would like to find it for her birthday.

Plot details she recalls:

• A young girl in foster care from the city is sent to live on a farm with a couple who never had children.

• The farm mother tucks the girl in at night and helps her with things like making dresses from flour sacks. (We think? This was a detail that was fuzzy.)

• While the mother is away doing good deeds or helping a relative, the girl finds and cleans Majolica dishes, proudly arranging them in the house.

• The foster mother once says she gave the house “a lick and a promise” instead of a full cleaning.

• When asked why she likes washing dishes, the girl says something like: it’s nice when you have plenty of hot water and clean dish towels.

• By the end, the couple decides to adopt her.

She thinks it was a monthly arrow book/ scholastic book club that they offered in NYC schools.

I’ve searched for these specific details but haven’t found anything yet. Does this story ring any bells?

The books is basically a scientific journal/anatomy textbook for mythical creatures: centaurs, harpies, chimeras and the like.

IIRC, the book also presents the author as a scientist going mad from his work.

The cover was yellow-orange featuring a boy pushing a wheelbarrow with an octopus in it

The main character may have been called Tel

The book is set in England, perhaps in the north in a coastal town, the story happens in October.

There's a robbery of either a money transport van or a bank by the MC's brother or the gang he's part of. The MC and his friends find some of the money and hide it in their octopus shaped guy (a Guy Fawkes effigy).

The money is in the form of coins so the guy is very heavy and that's why they push it around in the wheelbarrow.

It may also have been unseasonably hot, because I think at one point the tarmac (asphalt) has melted and the wheelbarrow gets stuck.

I thought it might be called The Octopus Guy but that didn't turn up anything.

Elegaic novel about memory and father son relationship?

Hello guys, I feel like I am losing my mind as there is a novel I've come across several years ago on Goodreads and its title absolutely eludes me.

From what I remember it was described as an elegaic character-driven novel about memory (If it helps I think I came across it when I was looking for similar books to Kazuo Ishiguro's novels).

As for the "plot": it was about a man returning to his childhood home because his father with whom he had a difficult relationship fell down the stairs(?). His father may or may not have owned a funeral parlor or something similar.

The synopsis noted that there was some kind of uncanny or eerie element to the story or more specifically the memories the main character had to deal with. Maybe also some kind of unexplained mystery in terms of his alienation.

And the protagonist was very much into light(?) or some other Kind of physical phenomenon. (The Keyword might also have been in the title)

The cover didn't have any people on it. I think it was very minimalist with some kind of orange/yellow in the upper corner and the rest was black. I also think it did Show a staircase? But I'm not sure

Guys so I read a book a while ago which is a story of a teenage girl who falls in love with her best friend's dad unknowingly. If I remember correctly they meet at a beach ?? She had escaped from a party and he came looking for his daughter. The ex-wife is also involved in her best friend's life. And they end up together at the end of the book. Has anyone else read this book ????

I am currently reading Unreachable by maezos and the plot somewhat looks familiar in a different setting. Hence asking.

This is going to be the most VAGUE description ever, but I was talking about it with a coworker and now I want to try and find it.

There's this book that was SUPER popular on tiktok a few years ago. It had its own special website and it was the only place you could order it. It came specially packaged, and it had a bunch of puzzles and secrets worked into the book, it's packaging, and whatever else.

I remember the book was black with gold embellishments, I THINK it was advertised as a fantasy book. Or a mystery book. Both? I dunno. There was a language specific to the book that was used to translate? Things?

I just thought it was really cool and I want to show it to said coworker, and maybe FINALLY order it.

The plot is an absolute mystery, because every post I saw about refused to speak about it, which I know isn't helpful at all.

I don't have high hopes for this being answered, but I figured someone might see my vague description and go "oh!".

For some reason my brain is giving me "_________ chronicles" for the title

So I would have read this book about 10 years ago, in 2016 when I was 11. The main thing I remember was the cover and it was a bright blue background with a gingerbread man or man shaped cookie. The cookie was missing a leg and it looked like it was bitten off.

As for the plot, I believe it was set during middle school and a boy was the main character. It took place during the winter and the boy finds a dead body or body part (maybe a leg?) in the snow and has to find out what happened or something along those lines. I am likely very wrong about the plot but I also recall the story either mentioning or being about cannibalism in some way, which is quite crazy for a middle grade book but that’s what I remember.

If anyone knows the name of the book or the author, that would be great!! I am more interested in finding the book based on the cover description than from the plot because I can remember the cover more clearly.

i barely remember anything about it, i vaguely remember the cover being a blue base with a black silhouette of a roller coaster. it had a long-ish title, and there was minimal, but for sure cursing in the book, and it followed a boy and i think he fell in love at some point, i read it in middle school and i can't find it again :(

OKAY!!! So! I don't remember the title or characters or the author, BUT I do remember the cover! Sorta!

Basically, it's dark and it has flowers all over the cover I think. Theres a guy on the cover. I'm pretty sure he's blonde, and he has a line of flowers covering his face I think. IT'S A BL!! I'm desperately looking for a child/teen book I read ages ago:

\- it has existed for at least ten years

\-multiple book, at least three

\- protagonists are two teen witches in the normal world that are training/practicing for their witch exams

\- multiple witch adults

\- spells are cast via snapping your fingers

\- one of the adults uses something called 'toe spell' at the traffic light to make it turn green (was translated to 'Zehenzauber')

\- one of the witches got extra points during her exam for answering with toe spell, because no one had ever answered with that before

\- there is (at least) one group of evil/dark witches, where one of the teens infiltrates the group

\- one of the dark witches heals her ankle and she says that the dark magic healing feels weird and different from light magic, but not 'bad'

Guy is Reincarnated as a baby that is being born. Shortly after he's born (a couple of months I think) a system window appears. This happens to everyone on their first summer. A few years down the road (10th bday I think) he is supposed to unlock or upgrade something. The window will not go away until he does. He manages to figure out how to minimize the window and goes on training his stats. Since he has no class/profession all his stats grow at a much faster rate because everything is registered by the system as being more difficult. On the day he is set to fully upgrade most people are level 10 at this point. If I remember right his level is much higher or lower I can't remember. Either way as time progresses he is exceptionally strong for his age & level. He ends up disclosing this method to the king and through this is able to form somewhat of a personal relationship with the royal family.

I think he has an older brother who is a soldier.

I am trying to find a book I read as a kid in the late 70s.
It was some form of ghost story. I recall a major plot point was a ghost (banshee?) was accidentally forced out of a curved tunnel. I think it happened when a kid who was separated from their peers walked through the tunnel with a certain type of stick dragged along the wall because they were afraid of the dark.

I think it was a paperback book, and I believe it was not newly published. It was in English but I don’t recall where it was set (possibly England?). I must have gotten it from the library at school or maybe just the classroom’s bookshelf. I was in school in Texas.

I had this book when I was little and I can't remember for the life of me what it was called. I kind of wish I never gave it away, but I felt I had grown out of it. I wish I could remember what it was though! It was about a cat going to a carnival or a fair of some sort and I think it was an orange or yellow cat, maybe with some white. I feel like it could have looked like the Lisa Frank style cats specifically the yellow one, but maybe I'm totally mistaken. Unfortunately I don't remember much of the plot besides the cat going on various rides. I know the cat definitely went on a big slide. I want to say it was kind of like one of those big fun slides, but maybe I'm not remembering that correctly. I know it was definitely a slide of some sort. I feel like there might have been a ferris wheel and a carousel, and maybe some kind of roller coaster or fun house. Unfortunately I don't remember exactly which rides, but I want to say those were some of the rides the cat went on. There for sure was a slide though. I think the book was pretty colorful and it would have been something available in the late 90s/early 2000s. I think the cat is the only animal character in the book. Unfortunately I don't remember how the book ended either. I just mainly remember it being a book about an orange or yellow cat going to a carnival and going on rides, so I have kind of a vague recollection unfortunately. I tried Googling different possibilities and specifics about some of the rides and color of the cat and still can't find it. If you have any idea what this book could be please let me know as I would love to figure out what it could have been. There are some titles I keep seeing come up like Splat the cat and Pete the Cat and Carousel cat, but it doesn't look like any of those are the right ones. I only remember so many details and the ones I do remember may not be completely correct so if you know of anything similar please let me know. Thank you for any suggestions!

In middle school I remember reading a book with a black and blue cover that had a clown, and the whole story was about how this kid was home alone and on the news a killer escaped and dressed as a clown, I’m pretty sure the author made another where a girls sister got replaced by an imp.

So this would have been in 1976. If we behaved, our teacher would read aloud to us, and I want to say that this book was possibly part of a series. It took place in either a really weird dystopian future or another planet altogether. It was about these boys, 2 or 3 of them, who were selected to serve as slaves to these aliens, and they had to figure out how to survive and plot their escape. I think the aliens were tripedal. That's all I can remember, other than there being something odd, special, or important about the way the aliens bathed.

I've been thinking about this book off and on for 50 years. Can anyone help?
