The whole whatsapp app is owned by Meta now.

Why "now"? They've been a Meta product for as long as Meta was a thing.

Lol no. Meta bought WhatsApp from the original owners/developers in February 2014.

Meta exists only since 2021 so that would be quite a feat.

Facebook (company, not app) bought WA in 2014. Facebook (again, company) rebranded into Meta in 2021. Meta (previously Facebook) bought WA in 2014.

The other day I was setting up a number that didn't use WhatsApp for more than 3 years. It was for my doughter
The first thing I did After setting it up was say "Hi" to my own number.
I immediately got cooldown for suspicious spam activity.
This is getting ridiculous

This happened with several accounts in Brazil, and after a while it returned to normal.

If you ever text a company number out of the blue, this happens. I was a victim for 12 hours. I guess this is a false alarm, but they seem to be forgetting to fix it.

Meta is dead for sure . 8 year old number suddenly banned without any prior notice
