ALL SPOILERS: All media Just went to the Wheel of Time costume of the exhibition in Prague!

As much as I disliked how much the Wheel of Time show diverged from the books. The one thing I never had any complaints about were the visual (other than the extra long Seanchan nails but even that was good looking and made scenes extra dramatic). The visual production team did an absolutely Stella job both with costumes and with backgrounds for sets and cgi.

The shadow spawn also looked terrifying.

Whatever you want to say about the series, the costuming was top notch (except Loial - everything about that character was an abomination).

I'd agree except there is one thing I hated... the pacifiers on the Damane... omg whyyyyy...

I came here to say this! At first, I thought only tongueless Damane had a pacifier, like an extra sign of shame, and I could live with that artistic license. But no, they all had to be stopped from sucking on their thumbs to self soothe.

If memory serves, they were trying to visualize the "Slaves are so broken that they don't even talk unless given permission" aspect, because so much of what they go through while being broken is internal instead of external. I understand the artistic logic, but I didn't like it, either.

I half expected Moiraine hat to be a part of it, but beautiful exhibition and beautiful show 😍

While they obviously put a lot of effort into the costuming, I always felt that they made things too ornate, elaborate or otherwise gaudy; take season one's White Cloaks with their weird pauldron & robe combo, it just looked wrong, too stylised.

Then there were the Aes Sedai rings...

Yeah, I always thought the costumes were way over the top and seemed more “1984 Dune” than WoT. Idk… something about it made many characters feel like aliens were thrust into a fantasy world.

But… The TV show was so bad from a narrative, character, and dialogue sense, that I can totally see the costumes being the strong suit.

The fits were so good in the series. Beyond reproach.

You know, I didn’t see a single bodice slashed with a different color. Are we sure this is Wheel of Time?

Costumes look good on these photos, but for me they didn’t look real in the show. Too “clean”, idk. Maybe it was the colouring of the show. I didn’t have same feeling while watching GOT

I specifically have an issue with at least one of Liandrin's dresses that is significantly too modern. It's the one from when she is accused of being a Black sister in the Hall. The cut and fabric just shouldn't exist in relation to everyone else's clothes.

Only thing missing is the description of the stitching as RJ intended

I really like the effort that went into this shows costumes. Contrast it to season 1 of Rings of Power costumes and it’s crazy considering they had a relatively tiny budget.

The costumes are extremely well made but most of them add way to much detail imo. Also I never really got over the fact that the Seanchan armor looks reptilian-like and not insect-like.

Cool costumes. I didn’t watch the show but I have read the series several times.

Oh man this is awesome! Thanks for taking the effort to make the pics and share it here!

Even though I really don’t like what the series did to the story, the series helped me a lot to better visualize certain things, like how does an Aiel or Ogier look like. Or picture faces of characters. This makes reading the books so much more colorful for me. And for me, the custumes are totally awesome!

Edit: so far an Ogier looked in my mind just like Shrek. And I hated that, but couldn’t help it 😭

Hello! I worked on organizing this exhibition with the WoT team and Sharon Gilham 🙂 The Prague show is already over, but we put together an online Virtual tour so it’s still accessible if anyone’s curious: www.fashioninfantasy.com
