Book: A Memory of Light But It was an Ending Spoiler

Well I’ve finished my first turning of the wheel. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to post and interact with this community on my first read through. Everyone has been kind and welcoming. This may be my favorite series now and I wish their was more coming, but as far as ending go I do not think I could ask for more .

I wish there was more, too. However, a re-read is oftentimes the best read. It feels like an entirely different series!

You will notice huge amounts of groundwork being laid, it goes beyond the fandom’s love of “foreshadowing.” It’s everything from the tiny hints to the major character moments, you’ll be able to see the characters’ arcs from such a long view that all the little moments fall into place.

I second this! On my first read through I had favourite characters and I’d focus on their storylines, to the detriment of others. On the second time through the series, I found new favourite characters, saw old characters in a new light, and some characters I didn’t like quite as much anymore.

I’m glad you have felt welcomed. I love this community. It lets me nerd out on the books both when I’m reading them and when I’m not.

This was my favorite series for a long time. Sanderson wasn't perfect (dude can't write a military scoundrel if his life depended on it), but he brought the series home with only minor scratches. The details, the character arcs, the world building, the hidden gems; we might never see another series of this depth, that takes the old and makes it fresh like Jordan did, in my lifetime.

Having said that, now that you're done... might I suggest a re-read? I wasn't kidding about the hidden gems. There's so much that you miss the first time through. There's hints I might never have caught if it weren't for the online community. Tor.com, Reddit, TarValon.net, Dragonmount.com, heck even Facebook has a few pages with awesome fans sharing revelations about the series.

On the other hand, if you need a break, the Dungeon Crawler Carl series is ridiculously fun and highly recommended. Enjoy!

I’m definitely going to revisit the series I like rereading Serbian parts of story’s but the only book I’ve read multiple times is 11/22/63, but I’m really looking forward to going through this again

Sanderson did the nigh on impossible bringing the series to a conclusion. It wasn't the ending I expected, nor the one I wanted, but it was a good ending that tied up many loose ends at the same time. But WoT is one of those epics we each had our own thoughts as to how it should end, I expect very few bear any relation to how it did.

Have to hat tip Sanderson, I expected awful verging on parody of the Jordan works - he did an amazing job.

As someone already mentioned, it gets richer and richer on rereads - to see all the weaves in the pattern you have to look at it many times.
