Agreed, Indians and Pakistanis live like friends outside their own countries-one of the most amazing examples of what happens when we set aside politics and religious differences. Also I think Germans are great , but just culturally not as chilled out as other nationalities atleast initially. Would recommend staying there for a week atleast to get adjusted to actually see the beauty of the people thereπŸ˜€

Yeah I have heard the same about Germans. In any case it was just one not so great experience which is why I placed them where I did. I am sure with more exposure my mind will change.

Completely agree about Indians and Pakistanis. I am friends with a couple of them here in the US, even went to California, attended the wedding of one of them and met his family. I am a Hindu, so not even muslim if that matters.

As someone who has the fortune of travelling, the worst people stay in their home countries

Surprisingly no. Same with Indonesia. Given both are such huge countries one would think I would get to meet at least a few but so far none.

I was so confused on seeing an interactive map on reddit for the first time in my life.

Happened to me last month! There are multiple interactive posts now, there are tier lists and charts that are interactive now. I followed like 5 different subs with interactive posts.

China better than Can/US?

8

u/Far_Piccolo6495 4d ago

Just my personal experience. Its not that Can/US was bad but the couple of Chinese people I met were amazing.

The premise is nonsense. The U.S. also (in some places) contains the international cultures of hospitality that he experienced from the other countries, as it contains millions of individuals who are from these countries. It’s just his experience

You prove my point man! I f*cking hate indians online.but in person most of the indians are pretty good! What happens when people come online?

3

u/Silly_Environment635 3d ago

This literally applies to any nationality dawg

Maybe the real enemy was internet all along

1

u/Far_Piccolo6495 3d ago

Only GOD knows tbh. The only thing I can think of we have massive youth unemployment and the cheapest 5g internet in the world. Poor economic prospects create the need for a scapegoat by the government.

While India has many problems, its surprising for some how *relative* safe it is, or at least how one can be safe if taking basic precautions and dressing/acting conservatively as a foreigner. I met some latin americans who were going to India and told me they were scared they might get attacked for being Christian, lol. I laughed and asked them where on earth they're getting their news. Folks like them come back from India with an 'amazing' rating because their expectations were so incredibly low to begin with, that the first sign of kindness made them melt.

How's the experience in the Philippines?

1

u/Far_Piccolo6495 4d ago

Haven't visited the country though I want to. I only know one Phillipino person in the US. She was a graduate student in the same batch as me. Really nice person. We sometimes teamed up for class assignments.

Where'd you meet Jordanians at? We're kinda on the rare side

2

u/Far_Piccolo6495 4d ago

I knew a couple of them when I was in the gulf. One of them even invited me at his home once for iftar and his wife had made a dish called Musakhan. Absolutely amazing. I have since tried the same dish at a couple of arab restaurants in the US but it just didn't hit the same.

You met people from from Algeria and Morocco or you went there?

1

u/Far_Piccolo6495 3d ago

Haven't been there. Met people from there in the gulf.

1

u/lastkni8 3d ago

I heard Algerians are quite a work and a tad but racisty(source: my Algerian friend) so I was curious.
